Why play Hebek and not Ride? Traded or showing Hebek ?

 Too funny! I'm not sure you can showcase Hebek, so it's gotta be the first option. If you dress a hot wet pile of poop nobody is going to see that and and think it could really help their team. Maybe if there was a rule that you HAD to dress an import he'd have value? :dunno:I think Ride is on the move to recoup a pick or two now for another deal, that's my guess.

Nice goal by the new guy that was some tic tac toe magic.

Cause for speculation?

Or a slick misdirection to get other.teams nervous Windsor isn't done adding another big player? I know probly not.

Yeah I'd guess "potential move" if had to. But can't be all 3?

With Ride and O’F being Windsor’s more valuable “expendable“ pieces - it definitely raises eyebrows. Especially given the lack of a draft pick cupboard the Spits have.

Ride shouldn’t be a scratch anymore at this level - he has earned his keep. C cb

Where there is smoke… there is fire.…

WINDSOR
Great to win tonight against a tough team. Another #1 star performance by Costanzo won the game. Line changes tonight or what but the Powerplay both units blew moose weenies. How many times you try to enter on the board's with at least 2-3 opposing players every time. No one can carry down the middle and draw some coverage off the half walls???? That PP needs major work moving forward. I'll take the win 2 pts to start the new year and week of hockey. Go Spits!

Both names have been “shopped” be an interesting couple days coming. Renwick still coughing up pucks, meidema still disinterested…
Good win, still not a 60 min effort but good win. Tough time for the guys to play thru right now.

Absolutely tough for these young adults until the deadlines pass. Not only the hockey on the ice, they spend more time together as friends and co-students. Imagine being that age and getting shipped this late in the school year alone and to new billets. Tough life lessons for anyone in the hockey business.

Quite simply they wouldn’t scratch Ride and play Hebek against a top divisional rival battling for first or second in the conference. Same for O’Flaherty for Granerio. Something is up, whether it happens or not we’ll see.

Packaged together to reduce required picks? Separate deals? Who knows but I’m betting packaged.

Ride and O'Flaherty, obviously something is happening, you don't have two guys like that a healthy scratch against a divisional opponent, while dressing Martin and Granerio. I assume this would be a package deal for another d-man, but who? Couldn't it be part of a deal for Del Mastro? Obviously it would take more than just them to get him.

Brett Harrison is a pure sniper, that goal he scored, the puck was off his stick and in the back of the net in a split second. Got that quick release, reminds me of Cuylle. Costanzo made several outstanding saves, he is so acrobatic in that net. They need both goalies but I think it's becoming clear who has the edge right now.

I thought Holmes was solid as well. Only issue was the power play, but considering they had a different look on the 1st unit, it's to be expected. While Harrison played (and was stellar) the Spits still played without 2 of their top 3 centers tonight and won 5-2, so that's promising.

First, a few thoughts on the game...

- Harrison has a good of a start as you can ask for with the opening goal. Him and Maggio seem to have some chemistry, which is good.
- Holmes isn't flashy but looked poised and knew where to be. Again, small sample size but...
- Costanzo was a rock and it's going to be harder to justify him and Onuska splitting time.
- I'm eager to see the PP once Harrison gets a few practices in and Abraham returns.
- Have we EVER had two EN goals called back because of off-side?
- Not sure why they only had three officials late in the game. I didn't see the fourth go off.
- You can't take 22 shots and expect to win every night... and I think they realize that.

As for the trade deadline...

- Last season, when players were sick or injured, they were labelled as such. When Medina was out, he was "scratched." Tonight, Maillet, Abraham, and Johnston were all listed for specific reasons. Ride and O'F were "scratched." Something is up... I don't know what, but you don't sit either guy as a healthy scratch at this point.
- Given the WJC gold is tomorrow, does Bowler pull the trigger before the game is done? You'd have to imagine that, come tomorrow night or Friday, guys like Del Mastro, Clarke, Wright, etc etc will get shuffled around. Might as well get his stuff out of the way.

An idea for a trade... and hear me out on this...

To Windsor - Rodwin Dionicio + Aiden Castle or Nolan Dann + Windsor's 3rd 2024

To Niagara - O'Flaherty + Ride + NIA 4th 2024 and 2025 + Windsor 2nd in 2027

At that point, Windsor then releases Tomas Hebek.

I'm not saying this will happen but I know Niagara (along with Dionicio) has been whispered around the arena for a few weeks now.

I'm also not sure what they do about goaltending. Costanzo is clearly the better goaltender, at this point, but I know Savard doesn't want to ignore what Onuska did last season. It's both a good and bad situation to have.

Does Niagara have The necessary amount of cards required to make such a move?

I would agree something definitely up with Ride and O'Flaherty both healthy scratches saw them both at the game
I would definitely take your trade idea with Niagara, Donicio would be a huge pickup, and if its Nolan Dann all the better.
As for the game, the linesman was not there for the last 2 periods, dont know why.
Spits win their 3rd in a row,Costanzo his 5th win in a row,but 1st at home,Spits now 10-2 in their last 12 games.
Both Harrison and Holmes played well, especially Harrison who had a goal and an assist, while Holmes added an issue.
Liam Greentree continues his hot hand 8 goals in his last 13 games, while AJ Spellacy scored a goal and added an assist,he had an assist last game, both he and Greentree despite being only 16 have surpassed O'Flaherty in the lineup structure.
While certainly not a Rembrandt of a game by Windsor they did enough to get a win over a team that was ahead of them in the standings till last night.
They showed impressive depth upfront with Abraham and Maillet both out, both guys point per game guys.
Next game Friday at Sarnia.
Hopefully some questions answered, especially about Ride and O'Flaherty, and who gets the start in goal.
As noted before Costanzo of his 5 straight wins lately 4 have been on the road.
He is currently averaging 2.92 goals against with a save percentage of 908,and has 2 losses in regulation all season long, very impressive.

Does Niagara have The necessary amount of cards required to make such a move?
I believe they have 2 or 3 cards left.
Windsor 5 or 6.
