What was the name of that American D-man, tough as nails, physical presence, left shot? Played a limited number of games in the NHL with Calgary (maybe other teams). Guessing he played for you about 7 or 8 years ago.

Patrick Sieloff - played in 2012-13 after being drafted by SSM in 2010 and being traded to the Spitfires in the Jack Campbell package deal. He only played a season but became a fan favourite. Sadly moved on in 2013-14.

When is this assumed trade going to happen. Seen nothing official on it. As far Joduin, lately he has upped his physical play and presence clearing the front of the net with a definite edge recently. 1 of the type o D everyone talked about needing and we have Joduin suddenly doing just that. As for Ride and O'Flaherty, Ride worst plus minus D on the team. Yes worse than Hebek. O'Flaherty second worst forward behind only rookie Spellacy who's trending up quickly. Not upset to see Ride and O'Flaherty moved to give them a new shot. Ride has the size but completely lacks the advantage of using his size. O'Flaherty skates around hard but skates out of position mostly to be any effective.

Rodwin Dionicio played for Team Switzerland at the World Juniors so I assume that is the hold up with the deal. Will probably be official tomorrow with a ton of other deals.
I don’t think he Tourney needs to be over. The team the player is playing for needs to be eliminated. So, even though Canada and the Czechs are playing right now, if the trade involved an American player, they can be moved now. Their tourney is over.

Is there a site that talks about the official rule?

Edit: KW Record says players at WJC can't be dealt until today.

I’ve actually been real exited to see him play for another OHL franchise.

Everyone on Niagara has been terrible - but I thought that Dionicio was the Swiss team’s second best defender at the WJC after Dallas first rounder Lian Bichsel.

Exited for this deal - love that both are ‘04’s too so if Windsor Decides to sell next year, the Spits could recoup some picks.

There is a lot to like about Dionicio. He has good size and his frame is solidly built. He uses that size and bulk to play a physical game. And when he hits, he hits to hurt – not in the literal sense, but he hits very hard. And he uses that physical stature in his competitiveness when it comes to the board battles and in front of his goaltender. He just will not give up.

Dionicio can lead the attack from transition, he handles the puck extremely well, he sees the ice well and he can make plays. He is willing to jump up in the attack and can pace himself to be the late man. In short, you have to be intrigued by the offensive potential. He has the skill set, the IQ and the willingness. But something is lacking.

Dionicio lacks speed. He’s not bad once he gets going, but his first steps are in need of some improvement, He has the strength in his legs, so maybe just fine tuning his technique will get him there. It will only help develop all the offensive instincts he already possesses.

Patrick Sieloff is the guy.

Ask us how we feel about the guy he's allegedly replacing who isn't at the world junior tournament. I dare you.

I was just looking at "Team stats" on the OHL website, and came across something interesting. Spits have a better record at home, only having lost a few games in regulation. Yet, their special teams are much better on the road, both PP and PK. There's no charge for this information, it's a gift from yours truly.
