I would agree something definitely up with Ride and O'Flaherty both healthy scratches saw them both at the game
I would definitely take your trade idea with Niagara, Donicio would be a huge pickup, and if its Nolan Dann all the better.
As for the game, the linesman was not there for the last 2 periods, dont know why.
Spits win their 3rd in a row,Costanzo his 5th win in a row,but 1st at home,Spits now 10-2 in their last 12 games.
Both Harrison and Holmes played well, especially Harrison who had a goal and an assist, while Holmes added an issue.
Liam Greentree continues his hot hand 8 goals in his last 13 games, while AJ Spellacy scored a goal and added an assist,he had an assist last game, both he and Greentree despite being only 16 have surpassed O'Flaherty in the lineup structure.
While certainly not a Rembrandt of a game by Windsor they did enough to get a win over a team that was ahead of them in the standings till last night.
They showed impressive depth upfront with Abraham and Maillet both out, both guys point per game guys.
Next game Friday at Sarnia.
Hopefully some questions answered, especially about Ride and O'Flaherty, and who gets the start in goal.
As noted before Costanzo of his 5 straight wins lately 4 have been on the road.
He is currently averaging 2.92 goals against with a save percentage of 908,and has 2 losses in regulation all season long, very impressive.

I believe they have 2 or 3 cards left.
Windsor 5 or 6.
A couple more pics should be coming

Read somewhere that Niagara only had 1 card left and also that Windsor had 6 cards before this week. So if that is correct then Windsor would have 4 cards left. Plenty for what they need. But as always teams/league does not keep the fans up to date on this stuff so we can only guess unless a team releases the count.

Remember, Spits need to keep a card for Wyatt Johnston. LOL.

Then the only thing that makes sense would be Castle and Flores which potentially opens an OA spot removing Onuska? If they move Dionicio then they’d have to pull an Import back Like maybe Hebek I guess….

If it’s straight up then Niagara won that trade
How so? Dionicio is better than Ride currently is, and Castle is definitely more productive than O'Flaherty. Dionicio and Castle will be back next year as well.

i dont know, i think ride is very bad, big guy with zero toughness. theyve been shopping him for a bit with not much interest

Some said NIA had only 1 card left?
if its approved then the league says they have 2 lol

So if we are blowing our wad this year…..I can see Peer, Cristopoulos & Maillet gone next year to recoup some picks.

Well, those two players from Niagara would be back next year. Could trade them along with 1 or 2 of the 3 you mentioned.

Ride's a budding project. He has fantastic size (6'6 205) but he's only started to really use it this season. He's more physical, has more snarl, and is willing to go if you really get him going. It almost reminds me of Sanvido. I like his potential but, if the Spitfires can get an 04 who has snarl and size now, do it.

O'Flaherty is a curious character. He came to the Spits after 40+ goals in 40+ games in his draft season but has become much more of a power forward, ala Kassian, than a pure sniper. I like his potential a lot and he's fun to watch out there but he's fallen in the depth charts against Spellacy and Greentree.

I’m more content moving Ride than O’Flaherty. I like rides improvement, but with the moves this week, doesn’t make sense to be halfway in and halfway out. If he can be moved for an 04’, I’m cool with it.

I feel O Flaherty is one of those guys that will significantly benefit from a change of scenery fast. My issue is, I don’t think he needs that to excel. Exactly as stated, him falling down the depth chart with the abilities of our 06’ crop that hurts him.

I like his grit and his hustle. He’s proven he can score before the OHL, but he hasn’t lit up the scoresheet yet.

If he’s the piece a team requested to bring in a game changer, I’m for it. If he’s fetching back a 4th or 5th, I’d rather just cut losses and move on from McIlwin or Johnston to keep a spot for him here.

OFlaherty is one of those guys I see In the category of Maillet or Christo, where in a year or two someone will be walking around smug because of how little they spent to bring him in.

Definatly all in. The goaltending still concerns me. We are trying to win the league with a 17yo (who is looking fantastic, but he is 17) and an OA that played great for 4 months last year but has been unable to repeat those performaces. If the rumored Niagara trade goes through, we have very few tradable assets for a G.

Ride and O Flaherty for Castle and Dionicio and Windsor to provide the Vaseline.

What a trade for Windsor. Both guys will be back for Windsor next year and major pieces and Ride and OFlaherty might be traded or waived next year.

Ride and OFlaherty need change of scenery and may end up being solid players.

What was the name of that American D-man, tough as nails, physical presence, left shot? Played a limited number of games in the NHL with Calgary (maybe other teams). Guessing he played for you about 7 or 8 years ago.
