Tell me you have an agenda without telling me you have an agenda

Marner didn’t even touch the puck with either of those goals, Leo Komarov could’ve been there and it wouldn’t have changed anythign

He wasn’t amazing, but the second line and nylander were solid, they got absolutely robbed by oettinger on a deflection and Robertson had a few shots, they cycled and were relatively responsible defensively

His line definitely was able to drive play offensively last night, and then he also landed the primary assist on the Tavares goal. Some people may have been watching a re-run instead of the live game.

Oh damn. I forgot how we scored so many goals in the playoffs.......oh wait

Last year we never made it out of the first round as usual and our opponent, who went to the Stanley cups finals, scored 14 goals against us and we scored 18 against them. Less "goals for" than the Leafs were capable of but factors other than scoring goals are just as important in the playoffs, as the Leafs discovered yet again for another disappointing year.

Saw this on FB. While I think Nylander can be much better, let's not poopoo what he's done. 2nd line gets hemmed in way more than they should and that's the main problem, but Nylander is still a fantastic offensive threat.

In times like this maby people need to not Putin claims that is not real.

He might not be his best right now, but do we have to scream trade every time a player are in a slump.

Hope he finds the next step coming playoffs. No worries right now.

Nylander helped plant Leafs firmly in the playoffs before that line died. Easily second best player behind Matthew's for a good while. It makes the slump easier to handle if you look at it that way. He was a top 15 player for more than a 1/4 season and had us at 0 percent risk of missing playoffs.

If we can get that Nylander and second half marner in playoffs, watch out.

Nylander is on a 75pt, 30 goal pace. From the 2nd line. We are getting excellent production for the money.
I think excellent is a bit of a reach. Id say his caphit is reflective of his production. If you want excellent production to their caphit, check out Florida’s roster or minnesota’s roster, there are some players on those teams that would put nylander caphit to production to,shame

And yet you want to get rid of the Leafs best player from the series, lol

Talk of trading him is kind of silly. Talk of his lacklustre effort, reminiscent of spells we thought he matured out of, entirely valid.

He will get hot again, he always does, nobody should doubt that. He’s moody.
82 game in nhl is hardest in all sport. not all player can be dominant for all.

playoff different. some player who cant be good for all 82 game can be good for entire playoff.

Actually Nylander is more common in league. Problem is matthews and marner here who are superstars, nylander is more all-star, but people expect nylander to be seen every shift every game like the other 2. It is more common in NHL that player doesn't stand out for most of the game, but then in a short span suddenly they do something well that make displays they have extra skillset than other players. That is what make Nylander a good no.3. When he goes up against other team just keep playing him and you will see by end of game the points is there. It would be true right now and still point per game or over if Tavares not playing like hands swap with uncle Leo.

The team has no cap space and is unbalanced in its dollar allocation. Something has to be done next year as I am anticipating another ugly playoff (hope I am wrong). Cant move Tavares Mathews is a keeper and having to chose between Marner or Nylander I stick with Mitch (more consistent). Moving Wee Willy will help balance our line up in having a stronger back end, and probably another gritty 3rd 4th line guy or top prospect which is very necessary

Whenever the camera zooms in on Nylander on the boards, you get a better idea of what his plan was.

From far it looks like he's just out of it and being dumb because he didn't use his body.

The issue is lack of chemistry on the lines. Tavares used to stay close to him and scoop the puck while Nylander uses positioning and his stick to dictate where the puck can possibly go. Tavares is an elite puck tracker so if Nylander reduces the possible paths for the puck, he can get it. That's one of the reasons the two used to have so much success in the o-zone. Tavares has stopped doing this for some reason. I also believe they had Hyman before covid cut their points run short in 2020. So not having a puck retriever on left wing has also made Nylander look like he's playing dumb when in fact he's not. During dump and chase hockey, Nylander placed the puck in some nice spots but Kerfoot doesn't have the ability to get it.

Am I the only one who notices this? They've had a couple close up shots on Nylander on the boards these past few games and it's like "oh okay I see now". Cameraman must be a Nylander fan, saying "look guys, he's fine".

He's had a couple brain farts recently but that's in the minority. His overall body of work is high IQ hockey.
I agree with that. There one and done on the dump ins lately, and used to extremely effective at getting deep and stripping pucks. Not getting a lot of help and the opposing D have easy exits.

As much as I get the moody argument, it's not like he just decided to stop playing out of the blue. His game dropped off immediately after his and Tavares' covid spell. Half his engagement problems are coming off of him completely mishandling easy pucks, not just the lower effort level on the forecheck and in front of the net.
