Didn't catch the Iowa games this weekend but noticed Mcintyre started both games for their b2b. Also Hunter Jones seems to have been called up and Wallstedt wasn't dressed for the game today. Not sure if anything is going on.

Yeah is he hurt or something? McIntrye might be the vet, but Wallstedt really should be getting the bulk of the starts for his development.

With him not dressing for either game in Manitoba must have been hurt. I would assume with the back to back today/tomorrow they were planning to give both goalies 1 game, probably played McIntyre today to give Wallstedt the extra recovery day. If they're still not starting him tomorrow then I'd have more questions.

Maybe some papers were not in order for him to cross the border?

Anyway, good news that McIntyre is playing well again, like he did last year for us. I know everyone is anxious to see Wallstedt, but if there is an injury up here to one of our goalies I would expect McIntyre to get the call up, at least in the short term.

I don't know what has gotten into him, but Kyle Masters has almost matched last year's point total in just 11 gp. While he is a 2021 pick rather than 2022, he is still younger than Spacek.

The amount of defense prospects we have with NHL toolkits is very encouraging. I’d trade them all for a projectable number 1 center though.

This team will never get a number 1 center.
You’d have to actually draft a lot of centers in the 1st round to have a shot. We’ve had four 1st round draft picks the last two drafts. No centers taken.

In 2022 we had the opportunity to draft:
-Gaucher
-Bystedt
-Kulich
-Lambert

In 2021 we had the opportunity to draft:
-Johnston
-Stankoven
-Raty

Not saying I would have swapped most of the picks. Definitely would have swapped Ohgren —> Gaucher and done everything in my power to move up in the 2nd round of 2021 to select Raty.

I think Simon Johansson has a future in the NHL. Not too sure on his upside but he seems so smart. Skates well, has good poise and makes great reads.

Also Giroux has looked good all season but it isn't showing on the scoreboard. Reminds me a bit of Duhaime in the past. The eye test clearly shows him as a player he just doesn't get it done on the score sheet.

Chaffee with 4 goals in his last 3 games (still overtime to go). Pots 2 with less than 2 minutes to force OT.

Decent speed once he gets going, but not the most nimble. That can be fixed if he works hard with the skating coaches. Definitely has a nice feel for the game with the puck on his stick. Nice size, but not very physical.

I don't see what you see in Giroux. To me, he is a small grinder with mediocre puck abilities. Far smaller and weaker than Duhaime. Decent hockey sense, I guess, but i see little, if any, upside.

The Duhaime comparison wasn't based on who they are as players, more so their professional careers to date. I see Giroux as a plus skater with good hands who is tenacious. There seems to also be some untapped offence as well. A good at everything great at nothing player so far but I can see him improving.

I didn't know who he was when it happened. Liked him last year. Really liking him so far this year. Big, skilled and plays really hard.

He'd be a good piece to have in our prospect pool considering how small it is right now. All of our good forward prospects are either small, soft or both. With Lambos, O'Rourke and Hunt, as well as Brodin on the NHL roster long term, I was kinda baffled by the Peart pick. But Peart has been decent enough so far. I'm still gonna be upset every time I see Knies in a Leafs jersey though.
