I don't really mind a 2 year extension or playing in the KHL until 21 or 22, my worry would just be lack of team control over their development since KHL is not a development league and they have no NHL out clauses.

Suppose 1 year into a 2 year contract, this hypothetical KHL team decides to limit Yurov's/Marat's ice time dramatically as a negotiation tactic to make them either sign another extension or potentially "waste" a full year of development. Obviously this would be a lose-lose situation from Wild's perspective with zero control over what happens.

I realize this isn't necessarily a realistic concern to have, but it's something I would never even have to consider if they were playing in say, Finland, Sweden or Switzerland.
Depends on the player. Yurov is considered to be a top 5 talent, maybe? You want those guys to be sniffing around the NHL in their D+2 year. Some later picks start their D2 season in the NHL and never look back...Mercer, Jarvis, and Lundell come to mind, and no one considered them elite talents when they were drafted.
Any, what i was saying is if Yurov is extended for two years after this year, making it his D+4 year before he even gets a chance to play in the NHL. That's too long, IMO, for a top talent, IF his development goes well.

So, is he still the 13th forward then and not on a line? Or is he not playing everyday but at least getting a consistent shift in the games he does play?

Looks like he's playing most nights, but getting 4th line time. I think one of the guys ahead of him only has 1 game, with more minutes, so that's why he's 13th instead of 12th.

Khusnutdinov has 3 assist in 4 games and is 68% on face offs. Oh, and he just turned 20 in July, and he’s wearing an A for SKA. Very very impressive

Not to be a debbie downer, but someone has to temper expectations. The other day he was at like 74% on faceoffs, so that's going the wrong way :naughty:

i think funny story, 98 or 99 las vegas stratosphere opened. i was there early dec for the natl finals rodeo. walking through the lobby (ground floor) walking towards me was this guy that looked like cheech so i kinda stared at him and he smiled but i didn't say anything because he didn't have a mustache. i was thinking cheech would NEVER shave off his stache but six months later nash bridges came out and no mustache! well on the plane home i remembered there was about a 7 ft guy walking behind him and i realized that was probably cheech with a bodyguard. i should have said hi. ps i was at the stratosphere one week after it opened , a week later one of the rides on top broke.

Milne not going to the WHL as planned. Going to stay in Iowa

He is 20 and just drafted, so I find it odd that the CHL was the plan. EP and capfriendly both have him as unsigned.

I liked what I saw from him in the dev camp and preseason game. He looks bigger than the 5'10" he's listed at.

I think playing as an overrager in the CHL doesn't usually benefit players much. How much do you really develop when you're so far beyond everyone else physically. It's why NCAA players benefit more than CHL players do when it comes to playing longer in said league. At least you're not a man amongst boys in the NCAA.

Milne is also a very early birthday(Sept 21), which plays into this decision even more. If he was, say, a June Birthday, and a kid with a slight frame, then you might consider him leaving him in the CHL.

I think Milne is just the sort of player that the team will be looking for to fill out the bottom six in the next 2-3 years.
