The missing spots will most likely be filled by Addison (22yo) and Rossi (20yo).
Or another veteran or two. It's up to Deano.

But if you break it down, Goligoski, Fleury, Zuccarello and Spurgeon are the oldest players on the Wild. As you mentioned Goligoski and Fleury are the oldest, but even Zuccs is older than anyone on the Predators. Spurgeon is tied with McDonaugh and Borowiecki.

anyone been watching KHL games? stats are showing Kushnutdinov winning faceoffs quite well but not producing as much so far this season.

Haven't watched yet, but it looks like he's back in their top six, and his line is getting some good time in the offensive zone. At least in the most recent game. He's won 32 of 43 faceoffs this season. Good signs from him overall. Hopefully the points start coming as he gets back up to game speed.

Agreed everything but points seem to be working well for him. If he can actually stick at C that would be a big win for our future protential.

Both Yurov and Khus aren't showing up on the scoreboard. But it's way too early in the season to panic or pull any data from that.

Yurov is still being used sparingly as a fourth liner, he's still only 18, even if he doesn't start producing, no need to panic.

Remember when people were initially panicking about Boldy his freshman year because he wasn't showing up on the scoresheet? Good times.

I do, and as one of the people who watched every one of those games that year, and didn't feel any reason to panic, there was more reason to panic with Boldy in the NCAA at 18 than there is to panic with Yurov in the KHL at 18.

I think some of that panic was also due to him moving to center and not working out there. Which meant the Wild still didn't have a center prospect

I still believe it would've worked. Watching him play at center, he played very well. The problem was, he was on a line that couldn't play up to his capabilities, and thus he looked like a guy who's linemates clearly couldn't keep pace with the plays he was making.

Well, they have him on wing and he's doing fine there. Let's keep him there.

Two points today. No need to panic. I’ll probably try to abstain from proclaiming him the next Kaprizov until he is at about 1/2+ ppg for a long period of time like KK97 was in his d+1

3 points in 4 games so far? I doubt that pace will hold, but it sure beats his 0 points in 40 games from last year. An improvement even if he doesn't score again all year. But uh, knock on wood.

Waiting for the announcement that he has signed a two year KHL extension...:(.

I guess we can hope that having Kaprizov here will persuade Russians to sign here.

I think for most Russians it's NHL only or they stay in the KHL. Playing in the AHL isn't worth their time/money.

He averaged 30 seconds of TOI per game last year. What's he at this year? He wasn't even a 4th liner he was the extra man who got maybe 1-2 shifts per game max. There is NOTHING you can take from his stat line and I can't say nothing enough.

So far, 12:24 per game, the 13th most among Magnitogorsk forwards.

And in this scenario, 20 year old Yurov would still have one year remaining on that 2 year extension.

Is the hurry to get him to the Minnesota Wild, or just the Iowa Wild so he's closer and we can watch him more easily? I understand if it's a desire to watch him, with Iowa games being more accessible for most of us than KHL games.

But I ask because if you look at some of the guys we have, Greenway wasn't playing full time in the NHL until his 21/22 year old season. And maybe it would have paid dividends for him to develop more in the AHL, who knows. But Calen Addison is 22/23 this season, and he'll be looking to make the team full time, and still only be a 5/6/7 guy most likely. Granted, he is a defensemen. Adam Beckman is 21/22 this season and he most likely won't be a full timer.

It's fairly common for these guys not to make the NHL until they're 21 or 22. So if Yurov signs a 2 year extension and comes over at 21, we haven't really lost any production from him. He likely wouldn't have made a big impact in that 20 year old season, if he were even given a chance in the NHL.

That's why I'm also not concerned with Marat's extension either. He'll be 22 when his contract ends, which is right in line with most prospects taken in his range/of his caliber (again, Beckman will likely be 22 before he gets any kind of full time NHL role).

Let them develop in a really good men's league. They may not be getting top playing time at 18 and 19 years old, but they're still practicing and learning from men in the second best league in the world. Having them come over ASAP to play in the AHL with a bunch of Nick Swaney's and Joseph Cramarossa's and Kyle Rau's isn't going to make a significant positive difference in their development, in my opinion. And this organization seems to like taking it very slowly with their prospects anyway.

I don't really mind a 2 year extension or playing in the KHL until 21 or 22, my worry would just be lack of team control over their development since KHL is not a development league and they have no NHL out clauses.

Suppose 1 year into a 2 year contract, this hypothetical KHL team decides to limit Yurov's/Marat's ice time dramatically as a negotiation tactic to make them either sign another extension or potentially "waste" a full year of development. Obviously this would be a lose-lose situation from Wild's perspective with zero control over what happens.

I realize this isn't necessarily a realistic concern to have, but it's something I would never even have to consider if they were playing in say, Finland, Sweden or Switzerland.

At least the team keeps KHL players rights for as long as they want. Unlike college where a guy can do his 4 years then be a FA after that.
