You completely avoided the question how you get better by trading Matthews or Marner? Let's take Nylander out of that because while I see it as unlikely to win a Nylander trade I don't see that as impossible.

I suspect you completely avoided the question because you know I'm right.

You can't win a Matthews or Marner trade.

Just because you can’t win the “trade value” part of a trade doesn’t mean you can’t make the team better with said trade.

There’s far more to building a successful hockey team than just collecting a bunch of good players. Chemistry matters. Roles matter. Versatility matters. Character matters.

Why bring in another cowardly rookie coach?

Bring in somebody that's proven.

You could bring in a qualified rookie coach.

Matthews Nylander and Marner are up for extensions and have NTC's kicking in come July 1st. Getting a new GM should be the priority.
If the extend these 3 players it will only give them more power.
They have proven they are in control not one leader among them .
Enjoy our regulation victorys forget about playoff success.

The coach isn’t a priority at the moment. You can replace the coach anytime.

The priorities are:

GM: who is it?
Matthews: If he doesn’t agree to sign an extension, you trade him at the draft.

I think Larry Tannenbaum will be the deciding factor
The leafs have some serious matters to change up in short order
My guess if the core 4 stays the next gm will be allowed to blow it all up
The new president could very well be Dr Haley wichenhieser

Bring a president and gm that know how to build a team for the playoffs .
Bring in a coach that knows how to mold a team.
You don't need 3 supper stars that don't give a shit when it matters the most.
All of them are perimeter players that doesn't work in the playoffs.
We won't win these trades
If we can get 3 1st rd pks this yr and 4 high quality prospects that would be a start.
Next yr will be a down yr.

Hire the right gm

I was thinking they would make her GM but President probably makes more sense.

I will suggest a coach whos already be linked to Toronto before hiring of Mike Babcock... Guy Boucher
Haven't heard Guy Boucher's name in a while. Forgot about him. Surprised his name isn't brought up more in the coaching carousel around the league. Good defensive coach

He rejected some offer for family reason...he wanted to be closer to his children but now they are out of family house, maybe the timing look good for him for a comeback

No such thing, not for this market.

Rookie coaches don't belong in Toronto

Next coach ?

That's easy.

The guy picked by the guy hired by Shanny's replacement.

That would be typical of MLSE....we failed with an inexperienced management team? great...let's double down and get someone with even less NHL experience leading the charge...
What type of group hasnt failed? Burke and Babs were regarded as the best in the business when acquired and both were run out of town

If we let past failures rule out future possibilities were out of options going forward.

And why oh why would we want to extend all of them? A new coach won’t matter unless the core is shaken up. Babcock didn’t work, Keefe did not work, why would next coach work? The core is the biggest issue, and it has not been touched yet.
This core needs to go & I dont trust Dubas to do it.

Get woke go broke. Leafs mindset has to change if they want to win. Tjis guy knows how to win...

That's fantastic but the NHL still has to allow him to be hired.
