Would you hire Brind'Amour if he becomes available.
What has he won?
Brind’Amour won a cup as the assistant captain, so he’s at least been there and understands what it takes to win.

He arguably did as well as Keefe did.We already tried Babcock and he failed
In a heartbeat. I think Brind'Amour is one of the elite, young coaches in the league. Already has a Jack Adams on his resume, is loaded with character, and gets high-quality effort out of his teams on a nightly basis. But Roddy is a pipe dream so I'll go with Quenneville or Gallant.Would you hire Brind'Amour if he becomes available.
Coach Q was aware of the allegations against Brad. And he still wrote a reference letter for Brad which he used to get a position at a school where he raped a teenage boy.I wish the Leafs hadn't done this backwards. If Babs had flamed out with Buffalo instead of T.O., wouldn't you want him now? He's everything we think we need.
Put me in the Q camp. I don't put a high level of guilt on him, it reads like a high level failure, not a coaching level failure. There's plenty of levels above Coach that shouldn't have allowed this.. affront to society.. nightmare.. to happen. He missed it, and that is tragic, but it does seem like he was kept away from it purposely.
IMO, Babcock still had a lot of shine from winning with DET and having never been fired at either of his previous gigs (w/ANA and DET). I don't think he's as much of a hot commodity if he flames out with Buffalo.I wish the Leafs hadn't done this backwards. If Babs had flamed out with Buffalo instead of T.O., wouldn't you want him now? He's everything we think we need.

Just saw that Elliotte said on radio this morn that Shanny was happy with the job Keefe did and It sounds like he'll be back
Such a great evaluator of talentJust saw that Elliotte said on radio this morn that Shanny was happy with the job Keefe did and It sounds like he'll be back
Are you advocating for him to be given Keefe’s job, or brought on as a replacement for Carbery as an assistant coach?I'm hoping Treliving can poach Mitch Love from his former team somehow. This guy left his WHL team to coach Calgary's AHL team and won AHL coach of the year back to back in his first 2 AHL seasons behind the bench.
The amount of Stanley Cup winning coaches that have won this award in the past is staggering:

-Barry Trotz (1994)
-Peter Laviolette (1999)
-Claude Julien (2003)
-Jon Cooper (2012)
Other current/recent NHL coaches who have won this award include Don Granato (2001), Bruce Cassidy (2002), Guy Boucher (2010), John Hynes (2011), Jeff Blashill (2014), and Spencer Carbery (2021).
