Without reading the entire thread, I imagine Winnipeg is on everyone's lists, as it undoubtedly also is on many players'.

It is a constant serious hurdle to overcome, and it is incredibly disheartening to know no one wants to come here.

Yeah, Winnipeg has to go above and beyond to attract players, i.e., nicest facilities, best training staff, coaches the players really want to play for, nicest team airplane, etc. & etc.

The good news is that a number of teams out there neglect this kind of stuff so it creates an opening.

I would enjoy the media and fans in Canada. I'd trashtalk the hell out of other teams and players.

NTC:
Kings, Florida, Arizona, Knights, Boston

Cheer up bud, I started this knowing Buffalo would be a popular pick as well. Still, we seem to have stumbled into a core that really embraces the city, it happens eventually. I think there’s a certain segment of people and players that like getting away from it all a bit and only hitting Florida for vacations.

Sorry. I think a lot of you are not qualified here. With all due respect some of the posts here are based on what your bigoted uncle might say about "People in the East", Americans, taxes, media, Winnipeg, etc.

Grow up, travel, and meet people. For some of you: get a passport. Go overseas, or cross the US border.

If your going to make a list at least preface it by saying: "I've never been to Winnipeg", etc.

All the people who mention "the media". You know that you can not do interviews, pressers, television, and radio shows if you want to. You can choose to not read twitter comments by sad, emotional, unstable (they are called fanatics for a reason) people. TD Brodie is an example of a NHLer in a major hockey media city who just says no and shuts it all off. You can do that too if you were ever at the level of being an NHLer.

Florida teams, Dallas, and Nashville 100%. Don't want to live in place where the leaders are borderline fascist. Columbus is probably another one.

are you going to finish this series ?

Uh, are you aware of what this word actually means?
Yes that's why I say borderline fascist. USA is still a liberal democracy, but certain states are inching closer to fascism compared to the past and it's scary.

are you going to finish this series ?
Oh shoot I forgot about it, I'll probably add more polls later today.

OK then what teams are on your list?

I've lived in TOR and BOS (for College). Both are ok for living in. I've visited MTL on more than one occasion. It's a good place. I've been to NYC more than I can remember.

If I was forced to provide a list:

These 5 are places I've been to and would rather not play if I had the chance:

CAR, STL, COL, PHI, NYI

I mean even if I've been to several NHL cities it doesn't mean I have my finger on pulse of the fans, the organization, housing, schools, media, culture, cost of living, etc. So even if I made a list it's only half-hearted. I would consider almost all of them if it was the right feel.

Just curious- think it could be kinda fun if people don’t take it personally. Let people have their opinions, let’s not turn this into a back-and-forth battle. So, if you were a super talented NHLer and got either a 5 or 10 nmc list, who’d be on it for this season?

For me:

5) Montreal. Media, pressure.
4) Toronto. Same as above.
3) Calgary. Directionless, disorganized.
2) Philadelphia. Same as above.
1) Winnipeg. Same as above.
1.) Las Vegas
2.) Phoenix
3.) Winnipeg
4.) Calgary
5.) Edmonton

Based entirely on where I don't want to live.

New York, Boston, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Vancouver, St boring, Florida,Ottawa, Calgary.

Montreal and Toronto are the only Canadian teams I’d consider.

10 x Arizona.
Not a Toronto fan but I would love to go there right now. 2 or 3 moves away from being the top contender in the East.

That's tough, but probably Arizona, Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Nashville, Columbus, Ottawa, Anaheim, Washington, and San Jose off the top of my head.

I mean, if I were in the NHL I would play anywhere, get paid, and be happy, but if I had a choice I would limit the high-intensity Canadian markets (although I love Canada and it would be godly if you were a superstar in Canada and actually won); or organizations that I feel would have a tough time or have recently had a tough time getting back into contention, or have had management, ownership, or any sort of money related restrictions or issues.

Columbus - lame team perpetually mediocre and forgetful. No pride in playing for this team.

Seattle - shitty weather, people, team, don't want to eat cool ranch crickets

Chicago - cold, crime, don't want to live in a tent even if the team gives me a luxury model

Winnipeg - murder capital of Canada, even the air hurts my face, nothing to do except drugs

Arizona - just arena, I don't care if the team sucks there's probably tons of hot chicks
