Thinking about which teams I would hypothetically consider waiving an NTC for. Based on desirability to me of the locale (not team competitiveness), probably something like:

San Jose (duh)
Minnesota
Calgary
Vancouver
Montreal
Boston
Pittsburgh
Detroit
Colorado
Anaheim
Seattle
Washington

New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia might be too big for me, though that's a superficial, thinking about this in the shower level at the moment (and I've never been to Philadelphia).

I think Washington, Pittsburgh, Denver, Seattle, Minnesota, Vancouver, and Montreal would be high on my list.

If i Go by my be-a-pro forward right winger (drafted by phili) i wouldn't wanna go to:

Rangers: i am sympathetic to the islanders so No
Vegas: I am not a big in Vegas.
Dallas: Texas is not my place eighter.
Chicago: After what happened to Kyle Beach, i would never play for them ever. If they would draft me, i would not report and threaten to retire.
Boston: i had to choose a team and it was eighter them or the Kings 😅

Teams i would Love to be traded to:
Arizona: I am a big Zona Fan, so there is that and i would be part of building them up. And the Coach is able to get everything from you.
Islanders: I am sympathetic to them so yeah going there would be great.
Jersey: They are up and coming and have good players on the team.

Teams i would be fine with being traded to:
All canadian teams: Canada is such a great country and playing for a Team there would be an awesome experience.
Minnesota: good team and i like their jerseys
The rest of the league 😁

For now my be-a-pro forward will stay in philli and play out his contract (elc) and give them 2 years more afterwards on a cheap contract and then look for a contract elsewhere.

1) Dallas. I don't like hot weather.
2) Arizona. See above, also I'd maybe like to win eventually
3) Calgary, because f*** Calgary
4) Vancouver, because meddling, incompetent owner
5) Columbus

In terms of the markets I would choose as my top destinations if a UFA:

1. Tampa Bay
2. Florida
3. Philly (my current city)
4. Montreal
5. Toronto
6. Buffalo
7. Ottawa
8. Boston
9. Carolina
10. Columbus

1. Toronto
2. Vegas
3. Montreal
4. Arizona

That is all I need. I’ll gladly play anywhere else.

I like how NHLers and people here don't want to play in places where they're expected to perform to their contract.

I'd play for any team. I'm use to the cold, so Canada, or northern states are fine.

Pretty much any American team, except for Rangers, Bruins and Flyers their fans aren't going to care how much of a bum I am if I stop caring, so that's a win.

I guess if I was actually rich it would be different.

If I was a really good player I'd likely choose to play in Montreal, Toronto, Rangers, or Flyers. Rangers and have have won a cup in '93 and '94, but that's a while ago. I think these cities the celebration of the win would be beyond ridiculous, especially Montreal and Toronto.

Flyers my most hated team
Los angeles traffic sucks long flights
Anaheim traffic also sucks plus long flights
Seattle long flights
Vancouver worst travel
Calgary long flights and team is in a little dissary
Nashville western conference team on the east coast
Arizona travel. I actually find their arena intriguing. Playing in front of a small crowd sounds disappointing but the arena seems to have a good vibe.
Minnesota? travel might make pick them
Dallas? Might also make the NTC because of travel

West coast teams i didnt pick was because im from near san jose so at least id be playing at home. Edmonton has the history and some great players where i might be able to stomache some of the long travel.

If you were like most NHL players and didnt live year round in the city you played in dallas isnt a big deal. The weather is just fine in the fall/winter/spring. At most you get ice twice a year so that aspect is better then a lot of nhl cities.

1. Winnipeg
2. Calgary
3. Buffalo
4. Montreal (tough to turn down but don't think I could handle that intense media / fan base scrutiny)
5. Arizona

6. Minnesota (Hate the cold if you can't tell)
7. Ottawa
8. Columbus

9 and 10 would interchange based upon which teams were good bad, I wouldn't say I would never play on some of these teams either, Edmonton is cold but if McDavid is there, okay sure.

San Jose and Anaheim might be 9 and 10 this year because they aren't competitive.

The top contenders of the league. I don't want any unpaid overtime. Collect my millions and preserve my body.

Do people not know that the Panthers are located 45 minutes northwest of Miami in Sunrise? It’s closer to Ft. Lauderdale than Miami, if you don’t want to be around it as a reason not to be here, don’t go. Unless I’m paid to go there for some reason or I’m flying out of it, I avoid it like the plague.

As a native, I’m all for more people not moving here, just curious as to how many didn’t know this as I’ve seen it brought up a few times.

Isn't Ft Lauderdale a suburb and Miami the major city? So unless you go to Ft Lauderdale Airport, you will be in Miami at some to start your journey to Sunrise if you're not from there. Hamilton, ON is the same distance from Toronto. Makes no difference outside the region. For the record, nice map of Metro Miami.

I love Google Earth, not a big fan of Google, but love that app.

I live in West Palm and fly out of Ft. Lauderdale most of the time. Rarely fly out of Palm Beach International or Miami, really. So you can fly into Ft. Lauderdale, it’s pretty busy and is a good sized city itself. Miami is definitely a major city compared to Ft. Lauderdale, but in the past 5 years I’ve only been in Miami a handful of times though I or my wife have flown to various places in that span.
