When does Trotz pull the plug on Brunette?

I do wonder that with every passing game, we actually get closer to a top-pick in the draft. So, at what point do we even want Bruno gone? The new guy could just get us on a hot streak and land us that coveted 15th pick again..

It's so bizarre that Trotz has decided to give away young players instead of firing the coach.
Well he was going to waive Tomasino and didn't think he would make it through, and I don't think he would either. However, he is making both roster and cap space so he is either trying to save the owner a few bucks or he has something else coming.

None of that changes the fact that Brunette should be fired.

Well, that's kinda what I mean. I'm not sure what the ultimate plan is (roster spots, potential move, just saving a buck...), but it seems that the coach has had zero accountability.

Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised but I don't think Bruno is going anywhere this season and I wouldn't even be shocked if we see him back again next year. The comments about moving Tomasino suggest to me that Trotz is perfectly happy with what Brunette is doing. Otherwise, why would you move a player just because the coach isn't playing him.

It's gotta be today, right?

RIGHT????

need the Annikin/Padme meme for this one....

I'm getting more and more worried that he, given his coaching background, is going to support his coaches to a fault. At this rate, he might get fired too because he refuses to move on from Bruno.
If it was a rando GM, maybe. But Trotz is a Nashville icon. No way he gets canned.

Firing the coach would mean Trotz having to admit he was wrong. Trading away younger players is just cleaning the roster of players that he feels can be replaced easily.
Well, he is right about that. Tomasino was around a 40p pace for his career (a little less, but whatever). And Trotz basically already replicated that production by signing Stamkos, who's on pace for about 40 points. And it only cost $8M a year. Easy!

Lol kind of reminds me of his whole quote about how easy it is to find bottom six types of players in free agency. Turns out he can turn anyone he signs including two guys who scored 40 goals last season into a bottom sixer!
