Outlaws is best.

Rhymes, Utah was part of the "Wild West" in which outlaws were prominent, and it has zero corny level.

Checks all the boxes.
Utah Outlaws absolutely does sound good and as you say, wild west, check boxes, it truly does, have to be on the Will Accept list of the ownerships family though...not sure if they will like Outlaws and the negative conotation that some associate with same.

may have already been said but Wilson Snipes are found in utah year around. Utah Snipes................. only a little corny or mostly

Maybe they need to go back further and acknowledge it's time for the Utah Jets, and finally take hold of their franchise identity.
Since Carolina has occasionally worn the Whalers uni’s, I’d love to see a Utah vs Winnipeg game with the same type of nod to their franchise histories:

Winnipeg dressed as the late 2000’s Atlanta Thrashers and Utah rocking the uni’s of the mid-80’s Winnipeg Jets

I think the potential for confusing them with the Yeti brand is absurd. Who confuses a hockey team with a cooler brand... Seems crazy to me, also a bit weird for a Tibetan word to be owned by a cooler company such that another brand cant use it.

That said, Yeti never made sense to me. Its the Himalayan abominable snowman, that has nothing to do with Utah. Better than "Hockey Club" but surely they can do better than Yetis.

\Settlers or Pioneers or something? Or maybe a reference to one of their state animals like the Elk or something.

That is why it is not working
I guess to use the name Yeti they would have to not have the Yeti word on their merch.

According to a report from Ryan Miller of KSL in Salt Lake City, the name "Utah Yetis" was denied by the United States Patent and Trademark Office due to a "likelihood of confusion" with the Yeti cooler brand.

Yeti has a market cap of 3.2 billion.
So much for Ryan Smith just buying the company to get its name.

Didn't Vegas also have problems with having the same nickname as the U.S. Army and they still named themselves Knights?

What happens now? Utah can still use the name similar to Vegas, no?

Yeti wasn't a great name, but also nobody is going to be confused about a hockey team and a cooler. Especially when there are multiple other entities known as Yeti that predate the cooler company, and several entities known as Yeti that have been formed since the cooler company that were allowed.

I love the “that’s such a dumb name” opinions and the “I don’t like any of the suggestions” posts.

It’s a nickname for a new sports team. They’re all going to sound stupid. Do you think “Sharks” or “Flyers” blew anyone out of the water decades ago when they came to be?

At least we can all agree that “Wild” is still stupid.

kinda true, but kinda not...

The Saskatchewan Roughriders and Ottawa Rough Riders technically had 2 distinct names, the space between "Rough" and "Riders" by Ottawa's team is what defined that.
see now we are thinking

Utah Ye Tis

I work for the company that owns Bubba Mugs, I'm sure they'd be open to allowing the brand usage!

Utah Bubbas!

(Legal disclaimer for any of my company lawyers reading, I acknowledge I have no authority to offer or make brand usage claims...) haha

I was looking up things Utah is famous for, trying to think of a cool name. I am thinking something that coincides with the natural beauty of the area.
I was surprised to learn that Utah is or was the gayest city in America. I never would have guessed, I assumed it was and is San Fransico
So just call them the Rainbows and be done with it 🌈

Personally I wouldn’t go for it as an owner. Too much glorification of crime and if they do anything illegal it would be too god damn funny.
