And honestly, I absolutely love watching Matthews score goals. That alone should have me tuning in.
Ditto. I also love watching the exciting dynamo Marner and the offensive prowess of JT and Nylander. That's the thing with this team -- their entertainment value is almost Harlem Globetrotters level awesome -- but in the playoffs they disappear like the Globetrotters would facing a top-notch NBA team.

The honest question that I ask myself is this --

1. Would I rather the Leafs thrill me for 7 months a year and treat me to night after night of joy only to collapse in the playoffs?

Or...

2. Would I rather the Leafs be a less entertaining, more stable, yet boring team, who ends up battling in the playoffs and making a nice run?

That's a tough proposition, if we're being honest, unless a Stanley Cup was guaranteed. I mean, for a Cup victory, I'd settle for watching a team as boring as the Islanders or Habs for 7 months... but if we're just going to lose in the Conference Finals... part of me would rather just enjoy the ride for 7 great months of dynamic hockey.

Ugh.

Idk. I think I’ll hate them a little bit and be far more cynical. But I always fall back into sunshine and rainbows eventually. Hard to tell without knowing what the offseason will hold.

At the end, I’ll probably miss a fair few more games than I usually do. But I’ll still be watching.

This was me in years past. But I think this Habs 3-1 choke job sucked ANY optimism I had left.

Hang in there Michael. I know it's frustrating but just keep thinking "the Caps" lol. If we want a reason to believe that a regular season thrill ride will eventually pay off, it's the Caps. With Ovie, Backstrom, Green/Carlson, Kuznetsov, the Caps were the current Leafs. The thing is, they were able to add character guys like Oshie, Wilson, Eller, etc. who helped them put it all together.

I stopped watching after the Leafs choked away the series against the Bruins in 2019.

You may recall, it was where they held a lead in the series THREE times.

1-0
2-1
3-2

Yet still managed to choke it away in 7. Since then I just checked the scores here and there on my phone, but never actually watched.

I didn’t watch any games this season either, even when the Leafs were up 3-1 against Montreal, still didn’t watch. I knew the inevitable choke was coming…and I was right.

Overall just lost interest in the NHL altogether, I’ll catch the odd game with other teams, but the only hockey I actually watch full games is international these days.

Can count on Canada not to choke.

I'm 50 I've been a leaf fan my whole life. Unless there's changes to management or the core next season I won't watch. Where are you at?

I'll be watching Seattle.

Vegas has been crushing it. I would not be surprised if the kraken win a round before this dubas led team.

I am sick and tired of this sad excuse of a gm who would rather be out virtue signalling than actually assembling a competent team.

I thought 3 loses would be enough to get rid of him. Apppears I was wrong unfortunately.

Pretty nonexistent. My interest level as a whole has gone down every year over the past three. Unfortunately, I can't stomach supporting another team, so they've essentially ruined my interest in the sport as a whole. Have turned most of my attention to F1 racing and combat sports over the past couple years and expect to be checked out in '22 aside from casual prospect tracking.

Probably the least likeable young core i've watched since the 90's, which is a complete shame considering the amount of elite talent and "implied" direction.

I will watch most all games, but not staying up for the late games and if I miss a few here and there no big deal. Not going to invest too much emotion into things beyond my control after this years debacle. Pretty sad when Habs fans feel sorry for you and refrain From the usual harassment. I guess this group has hit a serious low point. If the same lot is back again and fails miserably, well maybe it won’t be so unexpected and won’t suck so f***ing much if I am somewhat disengaged lol

Fan interest in the team has always waxed and waned. But usually only with the quality of the team. My current reduced interest has more to do with the stretched canvas audience and the fake crowd noise. The games don't feel like an event any longer, especially the Saturday night games. Now it's just a television product.

Dunno, I'll see where I'm at in the Fall. As it stands now, I'm not interested at all. Feels like nothing will change no matter what they try. I'm almost at a Raptors/Jays level of interest right now: I check out their progress from time to time, might watch 10 minutes here or there. Other than that, let me know when they go on a run in the playoffs and I'll start paying attention. Time heals all wounds though so again, not taking any stands just yet. Probably the biggest thing they could do to spark my interest is bring in a new coach. I truly believe Keefe sank us in that Montreal series.

Leafs helped me cope with depression believe it or not. Kept my mind pre occupied in the evenings after work and weekends. I will always watch them regardless. If they are crapping the bed during a game i'll just change the channel. Once it gets to the point they make me want to commit suicide and increase my depression levels further then i'll stop lol. I miss watching them already despite the headaches and heartaches.

I will watch games when convenient. Gone are the days of going out of my way to watch or staying up late or PVRing. I've never felt this lack of enthusiasm for hockey before.

I think the “honest” question is do you want to watch hockey or a circus? Good comparison of Leafs/Globe Trotters, both are built to solely entertain.......

So you won't watch but you give a crap about how other people feel about the team.

I guess I'm kind of excited to see what will be done different.

If Keefe runs the same shit and the third line is a mess of 0 impact players, then I will probably hope for a quick failure.

I am a Toronto Maple Leafs addict and will watch every game no matter what. 3/4 of my cloths are leaf, I’ve got leafs bathroom, bedroom, basement, vehicle, like most of us do, all their crap. This was probably the biggest disappointment I felt as a leaf fan but I have felt so many that I’m quite used to it. When the weather turns cold again my life will be dedicate to the leafs again like it has for over 40 years, I can’t help it unfortunately

Soon to be 60. I feel the same.

Over 65 and no longer get excited, just watch the regular season to enjoy hockey and Leafs are my team.
Playoffs I keep saying show me and until they do I don't get excited.
Been there done that way too many times and this management team looks like all the others in screwing it up.
I will never say that is it I am done with them but also never say I feel strong this is our year.

I'll watch out of obligation over any actual excitement. Been following the Leafs since 1974.
I'm used to the soul crushing failure and this group has shown itself to be no different. The sport/NHL product becomes increasingly bland and sterile each season...Rogers broadcasts actually anger me at times. Not good.

I have mixed feelings. There is still some time to see what moves management will take

I will always watch with significant interest. I can't help it, it's in my blood.

That being said, I won't be putting much stock in the regular season results with this group until they can prove it in the post season.

My interest for next year will depend on one thing. If Mitch Manure is here I don't care, will watch once a week or so. If he's traded this off season I'll be heavily invested and probably watch every game

That core had won a playoff series three years in a row before their cup year. I doubt that core would have lasted anywhere near that long if they went 5 straight years of first round exits, sometimes to fringe playoff teams.
