You would have to think Treliving looking at Calgary and wanting to bring in some of his former players would be high on his potential trade/acquire list.

With a new GM in Calgary Conroy you would think he also would like to shape the team in his vision.

This would make a good set and perhaps likely trade partners. IMO

This idea of Marner for Kempe + Clarke is an interesting one. Yes, Kempe is a big drop in talent over Marner. Clarke is a guy, who could be in Norris discussions one day, if he hits his potential... so he'd be a very nice acquisition. I don't think he'd be ready to play for us this year though, but probably next year. I do feel LA would add a bit, but I'm not sure. Kempe is also more of a goal scorer, than setup guy, and I'm not sure how we replace that elite setup guy in our lineup. I wonder what Tarasenko would cost, in this scenario?

It's really neither here nor there if Keefe is returning and he gets an extension. It's MLSE, it's probably permanently allocated in their budget to pay for a fired head coach. It takes the pressure off Keefe (if he returns) a little bit just to perform as a coach rather than a coach about to be out of work.

I live in the Red Wings' market and listen to Detroit sports radio every day (big Lions' fan). Trust me when I say they think Seider is the future and he is probably the most untouchable player on the roster.

I was living in Vancouver when he arrived and was lucky to see him live quite a bit....crazy fast and probably the best Ive seen handle the puck at that speed, combined with his finishing ability....he was a treat to watch.

From what he’s said so far I think the biggest changes will be on the blueline.

Leafs don’t have a lot of assets to move so maybe he goes to the free agent market for a guy like Orlov.

Upfront I would love McBain, Connor Brown on a prove it deal, and a guy like Barbashev. Based on his comments I think those guys really fit what he’s looking for.

How is that hating the Leafs? You're getting a legit #1 goaltender who is top 5 in the league, and a top 6 winger who can score with size.

Sure it sucks losing Nylander but odds are we won't be able to afford him unless with move one of Marner or Matthews. As for Robertson, the guy just can't stay healthy and when he has been, he hasn't really impressed me much outside that one game against Dallas this past year. Getting out of the Murray contract is great in itself and is why I included the 28th pick. Winnipeg is giving up their top 5 goalie and a top 6 winger, it's not going to be free.
