Stauffer, 1260 and the fact that he's been outplayed. He is losing the competition to Versteeg and Caggiula. Pulju is arguably ahead as well.

No spots are being given, Yak is straight up being beat out in the competition for spots.

Stauffer, 1260? That doesnt mean anything.

What actually MEANS SOMETHING is looking through your posts to see NEVER ENDING anti Yakupov rants on your part. You never quit.

My God man. Give it a rest. We get it. You dont like the guy. Doesnt mean we are just going to fire him out on waivers or some half baked trade.

Its not going to happen, no matter how much YOU WISH IT.

That's fair
If his days are numbered what is the high end of what they get for him? Will he need to be packaged to get the value needed.

I dont know. Hes a very difficult player to gauge value on. He does need quality guys to play with for his skill to show. But this idea we fire him out for a 3rd rounder or on WAIVERS (lol) is childish and is unhelpful.

Do the Devils want him? Whats an honest offer?

You don't even post at HFOil, what are you talking about?

I've been a huge Yak supporter for a long time. He's a great kid, I advocated almost all offseason for him to play him with McDavid, you are speaking from ignorance. The fact is we need to win now, and Yak does not help us win.

I'm one of the last people to accept that it's over for him in Edmonton. I defended him for the longest time, it's not personal. He's a professional, the best players need to play. We have better players who help us win now.

We need RWs but are these stories with Hall accurate? Seems like school yard crap but you never know. He's gotta be worth more than a third, but not more then a high 2nd, would be a guess not really knowing the west like the east and Edm specifically
I like that he wants to work his ass off but its just not coming to him, seems like a nice guy too

I would want Toronto to claim him assuming they could fit his cap in. We've got quite a few wingers competing for sports right now but lets be honest, Greening, Holland, Laich and Leivo, just as well to have Yak

Don't get me wrong, i personally don't believe Yak is going to be able to develop his offensive game in order to play a top 6 role in the NHL.. and he obviously isn't defensively responsible enough to play in a bottom 6 role.

I just don't think his skillset is going to allow him to be an NHL player, he'll eventually go over to the KHL but I'm sure someone is going to take a gamble on him on waivers.

Yakupov looked like he was going to be a player when Ralph Kruger was coach of the Oilers. When Kruger was replaced with Dallas Eakins, Eakins single-handedly destroyed Yakupov's confidence and offensive game. Too bad too because Yakupov could have been a very good player. Yet another case of a player that was ruined by the Kevin Lowe/Craig MacTavish monster that ran amok in Edmonton.

I still think there's time for Yakupov to turn his game around. Everything is confidence with him and he needs a coach who can help foster his offensive game while continuing to work with him on being a complete player. He's the type of project that Mike Babcock would do wonders with. I don't know if Montreal would be an ideal environment and it's not because of the other Russians there, but because of the idiot behind the bench.

Lightning would probably give you Filppula for him straight up, but Flip would never waive to go there and otherwise we have no interest in a $2.5M borderline NHLer.

As a Leafs fan, id be happy to make a trade if we can move some cap.
Brooks Laich @matching salary?

Would think Laich could help teach some of the young guys, and Yak can play 3rd line W position.

Oilers fan here, I really like Yak. I can see TBL taking the chance on him. If Washington can clear enough cap space (I doubt it), then they would be a good fit. Toronto? Nashville? Also, Columbus could use him, but bonehead Torts is probably in the way of that happening.

I think he'd be claimed, he's a relatively low risk player with his contract and past success. Even if he flames out, he only has a year at $2.5 million left. I would imagine a team like Toronto would pick him up if he were waived. Teams close to the cap wouldn't take a chance on him, but non-contending teams with cap space would take a chance on him IMO. I do bet that Yakupov gets traded this year for a small return though, similar to Schultz from last year.

Kessel as a Leaf might have something to say about that.

Even if you look at the worst 4 year stretch of Kessel's career in terms of +/-, it doesn't even touch Yakupov's +/-. The absolute closest it gets is -52 vs -88. From 12-13 to 14-15, Kessel didn't even have the lowest +/- on the Leafs, JVR did.

Its just another back door way to insult the Oiler fanbase and its players. Yakupov isnt being traded let alone being put on waivers of all things. The thread wasnt credible from its outset.

Its like someone suggesting you put Schneider or whomever on waivers. What would be the point of that thread ? Why would anyone add to it by replying?

uh....no....it's not

The only way the TBL "take a chance on him" is if a cap dump is going back the other way. We're trying to clear space for all the good players we have - there's no way we're going to take on a $2.5M bust who would be lucky to be a healthy scratch on our roster.

I feel kind of bad for Yaks because he should never of been drafted first over all with all the pressure that brings. The real top pick should of been Galchenyuk, but due to a serious knee injury in the previous year, he fell to 3rd.

Yaks was on fire on a line with Galchy back with Sarnia and that gave him lots of top pick momentum going fwd but can that translate to the NHL? Not sure, but I wouldnt mind the Habs giving it a shot anyways :)
