I would say the Devils would take him, but I'm not sure how much of that Hall/Yakupov stuff is true. Regardless, the team could be really exciting to watch with him on it:

Hall - Henrique - Bennett
Boucher - Zajac - Palmieri
Cammalleri - Zacha - Yakupov
Kalinin - Fiddler - Smith-Pelley

If he's being waived (doubt)
How about sending Edmonton boy Reese Scarlett and a 4th to Edm
Maybe going home will allow Scar to finally push to break onto the big team. He's a RHD who has offense skills, dont get me wrong hes not Ghost etc but if your waiving him....

The problem is cap space. Flames would likely want to snag him, but they can't fit him in.

I think the right answer is that any team that can fit him under the cap without sacrificing too much would claim him. There's enough teams that can do that to make it silly to try sending him through waivers.

Most teams would take a chance then dump him within a few years once they realize how overrated he is.

NYR should pick him up. That would give them enough forwards to roll 7 lines!

How is it even possible the Oil cant find a trading partner here? Perfect reclamation project.

I think its because the Oilers dont know what they want in return. They dont need more picks\prospects, are good down the middle, are stacked on the wing, goaltending is fine and they have plenty depth Dmen. There is one gaping hole at top 4 RD but Yak isnt filling that by himself.

If he gets outplayed by Caggiula and Versteeg then he would be a legit waiver wire player. He has been a trade bait for overa year now.. its no secret.

days*

Wouldnt be a bad idea to pick him up off waivers... test him out for a week and then waive him again if he doesnt work

Don't get me wrong, i personally don't believe Yak is going to be able to develop his offensive game in order to play a top 6 role in the NHL.. and he obviously isn't defensively responsible enough to play in a bottom 6 role.

I just don't think his skillset is going to allow him to be an NHL player, he'll eventually go over to the KHL but I'm sure someone is going to take a gamble on him on waivers.
agreed.-88 in 4 years is something.....probably the worst in the league.

I get it but I did not post the waive item
Take it up with them

Its just another back door way to insult the Oiler fanbase and its players. Yakupov isnt being traded let alone being put on waivers of all things. The thread wasnt credible from its outset.

Its like someone suggesting you put Schneider or whomever on waivers. What would be the point of that thread ? Why would anyone add to it by replying?

JVR and Gardiner had issues with the defensive side of the puck and making poor decisions but were fixed by Babs, wouldnt be suprised if he did that with Yak. The problem with Yak has never been worth ethic like the rest of his country men, its been his decision making thats burned him throughout his career. If he moves to a better situation I think he'll become a 20 goal guy or so but I dont think he ever becomes what he should have been. Maybe Eric Fehr for Yakupov would be another deal.

Your username is "unbiased" yet you make statements like these? :whaaa?:

Wanna serve up a quote or link to justify that or just pull it out of your rear end?

Stauffer, 1260 and the fact that he's been outplayed. He is losing the competition to Versteeg and Caggiula. Pulju is arguably ahead as well.

No spots are being given, Yak is straight up being beat out in the competition for spots.

Are you going to protect him in the expansion draft? If not he's probably gone to Vegas next summer so whatever you traded for him is gone down the drain. Maybe it's worth it if he prevents you from losing something else.

Instead of waiving him, how about Wingels for Yak+3rd? Edmonton fans have shown some interest in Wingels and it would clear some cap space for us.

Meier-Thornton-Pavelski
Boedker/Marleau-Couture-Donskoi
Marleau/Boedker-Hertl-Yakupov/Ward
Nieto-Tierney-Ward/Yakupov

That's fair
If his days are numbered what is the high end of what they get for him? Will he need to be packaged to get the value needed.
