Vancouver
Benning for a 6th rd pick?

Matt Benning from the Leafs for a 2026 7th round pick?

nobody from that family should ever be allowed near this franchise ever again.

That seems really fair on paper as an outsider. Carlo's having a rough year but he's a legitimate top four D and Vancouver could absorb the loss of Garland because of guys like Lekkerimaki and Hoglander.
i highly doubt they move garland because he's a play driver and elevates any bottom 6 player he plays with. it's far more likely hoglander or lek get traded.

I think the value is there, but I don't see the Canucks trading Garland, he has been very good this year. Trading him for Carlo helps our D, but creates a huge void with our forwards, especially with Miller out and Joshua still working up to games strength.

I know the Canucks need a Rd first but it feels like a Pettersson trade makes to much sense. Canucks management is familiar with him and he could really help stabilize that second pair.

It was always going to be a reality that the Canucks would have to make a move at the deadline to bolster their rather shoddy defensive depth. But a long-term Hronek injury does probably move that timeline up. A lot more urgent, and a lot of potential LTIR available.

I had posted something at the Rs trade board re jt miller + for zib +++

now the Hronek injury creates a real urgency and a new dynamic

as we know, JT Miller is taking time off despite being productive and supposedly it is b'c he is at odds w/Elias Petterssen
Zib has lost it; not sure if it is concussions or what but he once had chemistry w/Kreider and it is now invisible
the thinking is if Swedes EP and Mika Z played together, it could work out and given this + VAN is a legit cup contender, MZ would waive

there is risk with either or 2 primary pieces, similarly priced 8.5 MZ and 8 per JTM.

there is more risk for VAN than NY so Rs have to compensate

RD Schneider is normally not available
howev, getting Miller for Zib, full pop both ways, and other benefits would be enuf to do this

Zib + Schneider + Jones (good skater upgrade on Erik B) + Vesey
for
Miller + Raty + Juulsen + a pick

thoughts?

don't remember exactly where/who it was another poster on our board
you'll note I didn't say it was official and that it was "supposedly"

if ya wanna get exact language and go to the trades thread at our board and go back scores of posts and dozens or how many # of pages til you find it, be my guest

I took it at face value
obv it is clear Miller has taken a leave of absence for 'personal reasons'
if that is something else
then obv
nucks have less incentive to make this deal

although Schneider is not otherwise available and would cost
