What exactly does Reaves do?

I’m not sure what you need clarification on there. It’s pretty simple. He had a good game. He deserves another one.

But that good game doesn’t cancel out the rest of his poor performances since he signed here.
So fan cynicism is still allowed to flourish? Amazing!

But you gotta tell me man. Who here said it does?

His presence was so noticeable this game, gives the team a completely different look, and frankly something a McMann can't come close to.

Jelly knees skated really well too, to the point of surprising. It was tight, hard fought tilt, perhaps Reaves spotted in and out of the lineup becomes an asset, not the liability we've assumed.

Just like at the beginning of the season when he had a few good games it's going to come down to usage. If Keefe plays him every game he's going to start looking bad again. His leash should be short and he should rotate out regularly.

As a sidenote, I enjoyed Benoit telling him to back off Ehlers when it looked like Reeves might take it a little far. Really hoping we see an extension for him (Benoit) soon.

1 good game doesn’t cancel out the previous 20 bad games
He also still got scored on, that line got outplayed, and he almost took a stupid penalty at the end of the game that was technically still in reach.
But in the context of what Reaves is now, a game like that is probably the best we can hope for, so I'll take it.

It's just one game. He's still a liability

You can still dress him, but don't have to play him more than 4 minutes. He does keep everyone at bay

Kampf looked a bit tougher last night

One thing is for sure you can tell the players love him in the dressing room per their interview comments over the season.

Tomáš Plekanec
shut down bergeron
For the leafs yeah

Prime plekanec was around bergeron level as a player offensively and a tier or so worse defensively

2011 and 2014 playoff series. Habs lost in 7 and won in 7

Plekanec matching veru well vs Bergeron and or Krejci

By 2018 he was cooked unfortunately, surprised us with 4 good games in R1 that we ended up blowing still somehow lol.

We could use a prime Plekenac as our 2C now

He’s been pretty good since coming back from injury.

I like seeing him in the lineup.

I think that whole media story about his knee dislocating brace issue was a joke. He was just taking the piss out of everyone.

Agreed. We gave him a 3 yr contract. No way he's gonna just be a healthy scratch for next 3 years.

He's played a lot better and his presence in the lineup is still needed. Even if he doesn't drop the gloves every game, its nice knowing we have a badass mofo in the lineup if things get fesity and physical.

Especially in the playoffs where it 100% will. Especially if we go up against Florida

Rangers have Rempe for $820,000 a year.

Are we seriously discussing Rempe? A Four minute per game player? I mean, congrats on his 15 seconds of fame.... but we won't be talking about him for long.

Been playing really well as a 12th forward lately, huge kudos to him. Having a goon who can play is always good for a team. Even if he hasn't been fighting much, he yaps in the media and on the ice as much as Marchand does and that gives this team a bit of spice that they so sorely need.

Lmao @ Malgin
