What exactly does Reaves do?

Reavo wants to play!:

Half of Reaves’ job was to lay hits, inject intimidation, and wear down the opposition in the O-zone. The other half was to liven the dressing-room culture, to let his swagger infect others, to play dressing-room DJ and pump up the fellas.

When the Maple Leafs win these days, someone in the room cues up an old G-Unit banger, “I Like the Way She Do It,” to celebrate at full volume. Reaves didn’t pick the song.

“Wasn’t me,” he says. “Good track, though.”
Let him play for the Marlies.

Does Reaves really expect to crack the lineup when players with Robertson's skill level are the odd man out?

I wonder if he'll just get dealt at the deadline for a 7th rounder like other teams have done when they see he's not what they need.
More likely “future considerations”. I highly doubt someone would pay a 7th

We should have waived Reeves and signed Corey Perry inthink treliving wanted him but probably not MLSE.
I think he is really going to help Edmonton in the playoffs.

His lost his job to Gregor. Garbage camp is on him.

He lead our team in pre-season scoring.

Edit: Lafferty had 4 pts in 5GP

Timmins had 6 in 3GP
Knies had 5 in 6

Gregor had 3 pts in 6GP

I blame Treliving for the Reaves signing overall

And yet we kept Gregor? He was awful in camp, zero jam, no urgency. All I’m saying, it wasn’t Reaves that cost him, he was beat out by a PTO. We could have kept Lafferty and not signed Gregor, right, this idea it’s all Reaves is flawed.

I’d waive Reaves, people want to make a big deal out of it, it’s a minor move. Bury the contract, it’s 200 grand, a minor gaffe.

I don't think it would be hard to include Reaves in a deal, it basically makes what Toronto is sending out in the deal 200k more expensive.

For example, Peeke for Kamphf+Reaves is really like Peeke at 2.75 M for Kamphf at 2.6 M (if you include 200k for Reaves).

He has two years after this one, who do you think is going to trade for him?
