Props to Bozak awesome on the faceoffs. Kadri always seems to make you sit up and pay attention when he's on the ice. Phaneuf played well. Kostka gave it all he had no doubt about that. Lupul came alive in the 3rd and played well. Scrivens didn't do anything spectacular but I couldn't fault him on the goals either.

Anyway much more entertaining than Saturday's game even though we lost.

I agree with you....did think that JVR had a good 3rd but otherwise was almost like casper.

I hate to praise Dion, but he had a great game.

Yup, Dion was good, no idea why Kotska is so damn good.

JVR plays anNHL game, he will be much better as season moves on, good 3rd.

Very fun game to watch. Miller won the game.

Did anyone miss Franson or Komisarek? They had a good first game, but we brought in two guys getting paid a whole lot less and they got the job done just the same.

I thought the same thing. I like Franson and I think Komi had a decent game on Saturday, but why bother paying for expensive defensemen when you can get min salary players to do the same job?

ACC was pretty loud at the end when they had a reason to be.

They're fans. They need to be loud from the start to help get the team going. That **** works.

& I didn't even mention the fact that this was the first game in the ACC since ****ing April.

I agree. Don't think it's a good idea for Reimer to play his first game against the Penguins on the road.
Man do we have some "great" goalies right now. :biglaugh:

This is not playoff team with these goalies I can assure you.

even the idea of playing against pittsburgh with ether one of these stupidos is alarming.

Make a trade or lose the season.

Kadri is by far the most talented Center we have, give it time, but there is already a marked difference in his game than Grabo's. Grabo skates miles and accomplishes very little, but Kadri just creates when he is out there. Clear difference in talent, some players just have a knack creating offence, some work very hard with little results. That's the key point of the 2, Bozak had a fantastic game tonight also, he hit, won face-offs, made 2 great passes, the guy was a workhorse tonight. Lupul needs to get it going, Kessel too. Kessel looks rusty. Dion was solid tonight, one of the best games I have seen from him. Even though we lost.

Scrivens should start in the game on Wednesday, no doubt.
He's let in 3 goals in 6 periods of hockey, and the 1st goal there was NO CHANCE. A goalie needs goal support in order to post wins, and you can't pray for 2 in the last two mintes of a game. Simple as that.

Kadri needs to work on faceoffs, but outside of that, should be playing with Lupul and Kessel.

Kostka is all heart, just not sure if he has the chops for the league. Send Frasor back to the AHL, and get Gardiner in here.

2nd line is showing small signs of life, just not clicking right now, probably needs to play less than the 3rd right now, but they'll get it together.

We're better defensively this year, but struggling to score. We'll come around, it'll just be a matter of whether or not it's in time to salvage anything, or are we picking high again?

I'll be happy with either a surprise playoff appearance, or a top-5 pick. In between is a failure either way.

we need a goalie that can do the same a few times a season.

Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Goaltending wasn't the issue tonight. One goal gets banked in off Hodgson's body, an the other is off a pretty much a break away...yeah that sure is Scriven's fault

How can people complain about the ACC crowd tonight? We played like ****, who is going to get loud for that? There was a good buzz at the beginning and during our 5 on 3's... but after you miss those and are down 2-0, what are they supposed to do?

Positives:
-Demonstrated some fight at the end. Refused to quit.
-Held the Sabres to 20 shots, few of them quality chances.
-Penalty kill was pretty solid.
-Played with some physicality.
-Scrivens could have been worse. A better goalie would have come up big on Pominville's shot in the second and kept the team in the game.
-Kadri's line proved itself to be competent, though I would have liked to see more from JVR. I liked that Carlyle realized it and seemed to put them on the ice with greater frequency as the game progressed.

Negatives:
-Barely any traffic on Miller.
-Power play looked terrible for most of the game. Little movement. No creativity.
-The whole team looked slow for stretches, though I'm sure they'll find their legs as the season progresses.
-Not a very good transition game. A lot of bungled passes.

It really came down to the KMG line. They were out there for both goals.

Kulemin with a weak effort to get to the point, And Grabo with way to long of a shift on the second. Blown coverage by Gunnar as well.

Not to sound like a homer but were better team, But Miller was the difference.

Lots to build on I like what I saw from all defensemen(Phaneuf and Holzer especially), The PK was miles better.

I'm putting a load of my moneys on the Penguins next game.

WIth our current goalies and playbook of hockey we cannot win that game. Period.

I thought it was a good game tonight. I didn't like their play on Saturday despite the win. And after watching the Buf game yesterday I was expecting the Leafs to get buried tonight.

The PK was competent, the PP had some good chances and I thought the defence played well. Odd man rushes against happen when trailing by two goals.

The Grabo line has to do better in all facets of the game. And we need somebody to do something 5-on-5.

If we trade for Luongo we'll lose more than a season.

Kessel worse than Kulemin, what game were you watching??

I said his performance was the Ugly - missed open net at end of game, terribly ineffective on the lengthy 5-3's, and didn't pass to his linemates when the game got to 2-0. Unacceptable for a "pure scorer" who is paid to be the game changer.
