We'll be back next year. Flames win 3 - 1

Wasn't surprised at the outcome and yet it still hurts to see their season end. Probably for the best. They've worked their backsides off to make p/o's for the last few yrs. and deserve a long summer rest. Take the time now to look into their own abilities and hopefully some....Williams,Richards,Brown,Stoll,Green admit to selves that their time to hang em' up or move on has come.

Well, at least the two Cups under each eye catching our tears makes it a little easier to take.

Now we know how Roy felt.

First team to miss the playoffs since the Carolina Hurricanes. It's not even like these guys are an old group, it doesn't make sense. Something happened, something other than fatigue. Was Voynov that big of a piece? Pearson? Ugh.

What happened was certainly something else. Last year, 90 points got you in the playoffs. The shortened season, it would have taken around 93-94. Three years ago 91 would have gotten you in. It's already 94 this year with games left to play. The thing that happened was Calgary and Winnipeg turning it on, and Vancouver turning it around. Good on them, they deserve it.

The Kings just aren't as hungry as those teams, it's human nature.

Chicago got bounced in the first round after they won their FIRST cup. Don't fret so much, we'll be back.

More blame for Williams:sarcasm:

killed me

killed me again

Also I had to laugh like hell, some ducks fan on the main board cracked a good one about masisak still having us at #1 in his rankings even now

Drew will win the Norris next year. He's the most competitive guy on this team and he'll stew on this all offseason.

Damn right, hope he works hard this summer after some rest. That goes for everyone. We're going to find out really quickly who has a chip on their shoulder and who is just done.

I'm still so very proud of this team. You can tell that was just the wall for them. No one could catch anyone, no one could hit, no one could stand when being hit. These guys didn't forget how to play hockey, they're just toast. The game hasn't suddenly passed 20 guys by.

Should create some hot competition in camp, too.

Cheers again to the Jets and Flames, I'm firmly on the Jets bandwagon. Anyone but the teams we've had to play the last few years

The teams around them improved and the Kings just sat back and didn't match the urgency of those who were trying to vie for a playoff spot.

Their record in one-goal games and OT/SO reflects that.

Most of their team was gutted however, and even though they were the 8th seed, they nearly completed an 0-3 comeback.

Regardless, even if it's not comparable, you're team will be back.

Negative juju really went against the Kings this year....everyone wanted the Kings to miss it and I've seen a lot of concerned posts about Kings landing McDavid. Karma works in funny ways....it might just happen. :D

Hey guys. I know the hurt is still fresh, but you guys are my second team and I was really pulling for you hard until it became apparent we were competing for the same spot. I was really hoping for you guys to get a threepeat this year. I was fortunate enough to watch the Flames/Kings game at the Staples Center in January and you guys were totally awesome for a visitor.

Good luck rest of the way!

Internet high five, and cheers to you guys, you earned it. Enjoy it!

Mayor already starting the speculation lol said Tippett has an out in his contract. Would love him as a coach but I don't think Sutter is going anywhere (nor should he be).

I think they're both physically and mentally fatigued. You know, outside of my initial rage, I'm actually not that upset. I saw the team win 2 Cups in 3 years which is something I didn't think was quite possible except in my dreams as a Kings fan. The boys damn near killed themselves for the past four years and through their ridiculous determination, they've gotten two Cups and have really 'made' this franchise. I suppose they deserve a whole off-season off to recover and really re-evaluate where they want their careers with this team to go.

With that said, some changes definitely have to be made and people will have to go, but if Dean does his due diligence and makes smart moves, it'll pump new blood and drive into the team. Not to mention that I'm sure the core guys, knowing them, will never let themselves live this down. They're going to be pissed and hopefully they don't sit on that rage and they come out for blood and guts next year. I'm actually kinda pumped for next year already now that I'm done typing this out.

With that said, Go Jets/Preds/Lightning/Islanders.

Disappointed, but we just didn't have it this year. I'm looking forward to see what DL does in the offseason and this lineup looks like next year. Such a weird feeling. I was just getting used to use making the dance.

I have the Kings 2012 Stanley Cup photo as the wallpaper on my monitor at work. Was looking at it today and realized Bernier, Richardson, Penner, Scuderi, Westgarth, Loktionov, Gagne, Fraser, Mitchell and Drewiske are all gone with Stoll, Williams, Richards and possibly Voynov all likely to be gone as well.

A lot of turnover in a few years.

It's all right Kings fans. We will be back in the dance next year. Thank God we have 2 cups in 3 years to kill the pain of this season. I am actually ok and at peace. This forces DL to make changes that he might not have made if we made the playoffs.
