We'll be back next year. Flames win 3 - 1

First team to miss the playoffs since the Carolina Hurricanes. It's not even like these guys are an old group, it doesn't make sense. Something happened, something other than fatigue. Was Voynov that big of a piece? Pearson? Ugh.

Not to answer it all, but a team that lacked extreme speed took a big hit when these two went out. Both are the modern NHL player with reckless speed. So... Yes, it's part of it.

Love this team. Proud of them. Look forward to next year.

Hope all of you that are at the game Saturday give the team an extended standing ovation for the last 3 years.

I'll be there doing just that.

Anybody questioning this team's heart is just a dbag.

Those Flame fans are so happy. I remember when the Kings made the playoffs after missing for so many years. We were all so excited. Ah, to be young again ;)

Your team fought to the bitter end tonight, just think your boys need a little R 'n' R after so many deep runs and championships. I think it's safe to say that all fans of western teams in the playoffs this year, let out one huge collective sigh of relief that their teams wont have to face the Playoff Kings. Be proud of what your team has accomplished, you guys will be back next year with a vengeance, and probably McDavid to really get everyone going . Good season guys, finish on a high note, and whip the sharks *****.

Drew will win the Norris next year. He's the most competitive guy on this team and he'll stew on this all offseason.

This feels like a kick in the crotch, but I'm not going to complain after recent success. If there was ever a year where missing the playoffs won't sting as much come draft time, this is it.

Either give me a lottery win and McDavid, or Timo Meier at 13. Re-tool, re-load, return to the playoffs next year.

Maybe a dumb question but we have no chance at McJesus do we?

You are assuming Shakira would want to sign here. If I was him and I saw the way this team played I sure wouldn't.

It's hard to say that, though. Sekera would play a big role on this team. When the Kings were at their best post-trade-deadline, Sekera was a driving factor. The Kings also lost their second-line winger, which drastically changed the face of the team. They no longer had the speed they previously did. Pearson and Voynov are huge losses.

Was that really five years ago?! :help:

I'll never understand how rival fans can mock the Kings. You can hate them, I have no problems with that. But mock? They just won two Stanley Cups in three years. I don't get it.

Congrats to Calgary. What an incredible season. Hard work does pay off.

Defense mechanism.

C'mom Sutter! Why make it hard on yourself? He could just say "alright guys I'm home already, so I'll see you next year. Have a nice flight home. Stevens will take care of things on Saturday".

You guys put up an incredible past few years you guys should be proud. You have a hell of a team and are gonna be that much better going into next year with a fresh squad. I know it's no fun when everyone's against you, but **** em. Good season LA
