difference is the whole world is watching especially this series to see if the golden franchise Cinderella crap will continue

Completely outplayed by LV last night...
Again, we conceded first (for whatever reason and how), just not good.
Lucikly, it was just a one goal game, we are not that far off.
Hopefully Doughty won't get a suspension and Muzzin come back can boost our chance in game 2.
Go Kings Go!!!

I don't know which was dumber. Doughty throwing a tantrum in the third period with a 3-1 lead or throwing a shoulder into an opponent's head during Game 1.

I don't think he'll get suspended because there was contact with Carrier's shoulder before the head, but he deserves one. The fact that it's during the playoffs will also play a role.

I also don't like Doughty's obvious embellishment and dive early in the game. Could have earned two minutes for that.

Doughty played a fabulous game, but he needs to get his head screwed on right if he wants to win.

Give me a f***ing break, Drew got hit like 20 times last night and all he did was take a number and get the guy back later. His head was in the game. Did you not see the stats I posted earlier? Completely different game with him on vs. him off. His head was in the right place in blowing up the dude taking liberties all night, finally someone on the team sending a message. I liked him hacking Marchessault back too. Old school.

No surprise all the rage on the main boards is coming from Sharks, Ducks, and flames fans.

He won't have to be awesome every game if his team would score a few goals.
True, but that's a different question. The point I was trying to make is Quick won't be that spectacular every game, and it isn't reasonable to expect it of him. The offense better start pumping some pucks into the opposition's net.

The Kings have to be the most top heavy team in the NHL right now.

MVP candidate at center, Norris candidate on defense, high end goaltender and an elite 2nd line center.

And even with all that it’s still a struggle in the playoffs if your fourth line is conceding goals on their first or second shift of the game and your secondary scorers are as invisible as they were in the regular season.

Still think this team could compete for a championship with Muzzin and some secondary scoring but who knows if either thing is capable of happening.

What a joke of a league. They are gonna look into that but not the Boards that happened yesterday? What a cancer.

I love it. All game, Drew just taking his licks without saying a word, and they're all over him about it. "f*** yeah whiny baby drew."

He goes and blows someone up and they're all on the "HEY WHAT THE YOU CANT DO THAT SUSPEND 5 GAMES COGLIANO MAROON"

That is the Kings hockey I want to see. He absorbed a million hits to make a million plays and made someone pay when he got the chance. Unfortunate if Carrier is actually out, but the only reason no Kings were injured is they braced themselves for the multiple boards/late hits Vegas wanted to dole out, so I'm low on sympathy for a dude who threw 10 hits trying to dangle with his head down in the zone.

Eh Kings sucked and were 1 or 2 bounces away from forcing OT. Puck bounced on Brown and Pearson was in the way of an empty net on Kopitar. Quick was great and I liked what I saw from Fantenberg and Kempe.

And as far as Doughty, just more stupid immature crap that a 10 year veteran of his caliber shouldn’t be doing. Yes Drew was hit a lot, and he’s going to be hit a lot the entire playoffs, it’s simply no excuse to throw a questionable hit to the head and even put this in the leagues hands for any potential discipline.

So much bs about learning experiences and being smarter but he keeps doing dumb things that hurt his team.

YES lets face it, Fantenberg played surprisingly well.

He really did. Shaky to start but figured it out.

Still waaaayyy too soft on the wall for my liking, at least in having to play with Drew, but at least he's a roster option that I feel ok about.

Powerplay and faceoffs really killed them last night. I don't know how many times our center won the draw in the o-zone but then our wingers just let their wingers skate right past and take the puck. Killed any possible chances to gain momentum. But as poorly as the forwards played, they were only one empty net miss from Brown away from a 1-1 game. I'll take it.

Kempe was the most effective forward last night, and yet he played 12:55, while the most embarrassingly ineffective player in Toffoli, played 20:16. I just don't get how Stevens can't recognize this stuff during a game and make changes to maximize their chances to win. He occasionally does it and will throw Pearson up with Kopi, but that's about it. I would really like to see something like this next game:

Pearson-Kopi-Brown
Iafallo-Carter-Kempe
Rieder-Amadio-Lewis
Brodz/Mitchell-Thompson-Toffoli

Stevens is an idiot. If they're gonna actually consider suspending Drew maybe Stevens should bitch about all the illegal runs they were doing. Nosek with a bad board, and that bitch who boarded drew.

Fantenberg looked good and pulled his weight but let’s be honest it’s mostly because of the greatness of Doughty. Same thing with Forbort. Doughty makes his D partners look way better than they really are, same way Lemieux used to with his wingers back in the day.

Chill out RJ. I said he played a fabulous game. The Kings were absolutely outplayed when he was off the ice.

You're basically conceding that the hit was retaliatory. "Blowing up [Carrier]" = head shot? We all know that the NHL is trying hard to get rid of hits just like this. He's put himself in a position where he might not play game 2, which puts the Kings at a huge disadvantage. How smart is that play if he gets suspended?

So Doughty is going to get suspended 100% right? They won't give him a fine if they're having a hearing with him right ?

Stevens is an idiot. If they're gonna actually consider suspending Drew maybe Stevens should ***** about all the illegal runs they were doing. Nosek with a bad board, and that ***** who boarded drew.

You can’t hit people in the head!

No matter how many times you are hit, it’s still a no-no in today’s sports world to hit people in the head.

I am hopeful for a fine, but don’t leave it in the leagues hands, don’t target the head.

I actually don’t have an issue with Drew throwing a hit like that on Carrier. Brown does it every game. It was carriers fault he didn’t have his head on a swivel.

Can’t play soft in the playoffs and Drew was taking a beating last night, with no Muzzin next to him to dole out hits, Doughty had to carry the load and dish it out.

Because I disagree that it's a bad play. It wasn't 'retaliatory' in the sense that he was trying to get 2 or 5 for it, it was retaliatory in the sense that "go ahead and keep hitting me, I'll get you later" rather than doing something immediately stupid.

Vegas is the new Nashville as far as I'm concerned, tough as hell behind the refs, suddenly soft on their skates when they don't have the puck, and will throw a million bad hits, but because Kings braced for them, nothing came of it. But of course the one borderline play will get reviewed, because half of their players and their coach are already crying to the media.

I may be biased but I don't see a headshot because I don't see any kind of extension.

Furthermore, that hit was a nothing hit considering the shit Vegas was doing. My deal is, where is the consistency
