It's crazy people think Leafs Fans/media are hard on players.

Leafs fans have been extremely patient and tolerant with players. In fact, I'd say there's times we are too eager to defend them. I also think the media is more than fair. There were a few hard questions asked yesterday but they were all well-deserved.

I have a vendetta with Marner for threatening the offer sheet. Just trade him and if it doesn’t work fire management.

Also Marner’s letter to the fans was the biggest red flag. Clearly not written by him as evidenced by the no effort teleprompt job in the video
I have calmed down a bit now. We most likely can’t win a Marner trade at this point so we hang onto Marner for now. Hope he figures it out

If I get 4 first round picks and $11 million in cap space for Marner, I would be beyond delighted. Offer sheet would have been like winning the draft lottery for me.

The Bruins won a Cup after trading Thornton for a bag of pucks. The Devils boned the Oilers on the Hall trade and won nothing. As long as they don't get bootf#*#ed on the deal, that's what matters. Trading Mitch (and I am honestly not saying that is something they have to do to improve) hits them on the top line but allows them to pay $5M to a legit middle 6 winger in their prime rather than shopping at the discount rack for league minimum salaries. Its not Marner or Matthews or Dubas' fault that there is a flat cap but the big dealsa have choked the club. Then on top of that you need to consider the value contacts based on playoff performance. I never wanted to see things blown up but they really need to take a close look at the real value they are getting out of this roster.

We the Fans are to blame if we accept mediocrity and embarrassing first round exits while this organization can spend to cap and utilize every option available. Spending isn’t an issue, it’s becoming complacent with the team and hoping for different results while not willing to make some big change. Other teams have moved out core players to allow retooling and have had plenty of success.

Honestly, ....maybe.

I just feel like I don’t tryst Dubas not to f*** it up. I don’t want another Kadri debacle.

I think AM and MM are getting the message loud and clear, I'm also sure they felt they gave an honest effort but the results weren't there.

Everyday they can read in the media or see in twitter, facebook, etc. how disappointed the fans are, everywhere, all the time, 24 hours a day and probably for a long time into the future.

How will that make them feel, happy, content, motivated or what, maybe sad or even more likely angry.

AM is signed for 3 more years, MM for 4 more years, will that be enough time to heal their feelings, these are after all 23 and 24 yearolds.

After these contracts they will be UFAs, how likely will they be to resign?

Many teams have had to wait for their top talent to mature before their teams became true contenders, are AM and MM mature?

I think too much is being heaped on their plates too early in their careers and that too much will be/is too much for them too endure with their only out being moved out of town.

This is the perfect road to continuing TO's futility, the reason we will need to wait another 50 plus years to win a Cup.

I guess we need to cuddle them and tell them they did great?

If they played on any other teams in the league with their contracts and their regular season, then played the way they did in the playoffs. I don’t think any fan base will go, poor babies, they did all they can but still ain’t enough.

Fans are disappointed and pissed not bc they didn’t switch or have an extra gear in the playoffs but they couldn’t even maintain their regular season level, heck they actually dropped a few levels.

They are young but they are not stupid. I really hope they know they f up and played like crap. Work to get better. Admit to themselves that they are not good enough, take responsibility for their inaction in playoffs and make sure to work on their game and get better instead keep finding excuses for the team not advancing.
Don’t use stuff like Habs is on a hot streak, or Price is insane in net, or if only so and so didn’t make the mistake(Gally and Sandin and Marner), we would
have advanced, or if only Nick and JT were not injured, or if only the vets did more, or if only the PP was working…..take a good look at themselves in the mirror and make the change needed to help the team.
I thought last season exit would be a wake up call to them, but I think deep down they thought COVID played a factor, and goaltending also was the difference instead of thinking if we only scored a few more goals, if only I played better, if only I crashed the net and bang in a rebound….
Don’t just say, I was not good enough….do something about it. Not just Marner but Soup, Engvall, Kerfoot, Reilly, Dermott, Gally need to work on their shots. I don’t see how Barb can help them with skating but nobody can help them with shooting.
Also watch games tapes of their play and compare to how TB, Bruins and other top teams are playing. If they can’t recognize the difference, I don’t think they should be playing at all. Learn what those teams and players that are doing that make them successful and apply them to their games.
We all think Mack is probably the best player in hockey but a few years ago, he was just a good solid player, he worked on his game and improved, why can’t guys like AM and Marner do the same? Not like they are not as talent as Mack, the diff is Mack’s approach and his will to get better to become best.

That’s because other teams have a plan our team just throws money at people and hopefully it works no back up plan when it doesn’t the only back up plan they have it is to blame the people making League minimum Yep you’ll go far like that In fact this post fans are to blame should’ve been deleted I like your outlook on it

Anyone blaming the fans that the Leafs lost the series to the Habs is absolutely stupid! The Leafs did not have any fans in the stands exception for one game. And redirecting the blame to the fans is just ignoring the real problem. The Leafs beat the Habs soundly in the season series and were up 3-1 in the playoffs. Their collapse was squarely on them! Not starting the game with any intensity or hunger to finish close them out, the fans had NOTHING to do with that. If anything, the fan base should of encourage them because we fans wanted them to succeed! When they do well, they are revered as heroes, just look at a number of threads on this board. Instead we are bitterly disappointed. This was the BEST opportunity to get out of the first round and they didn't bother to put any effort to try and win a fourth game until it was too late! Players, coaching and management all deserve the criticism that they are receiving, it is well deserved.

You watch this shit year after year and you land on us? Lmao. It's amazing the Yankees are still in business eh?

As far as I'm aware the background din hasn't featured any death threats, and death threats are pretty goddamn common. What do you want? It's a big sport in a big market, there's like minimum 20 other cities on this continent with a similar atmosphere around similar teams. The Leafs are big in Toronto, but this shit isn't special. There's lots of pressure ooh spooky and oh also here's 40M+ of your 65M contract paid out in the first two years and enough sponsorship money to eclipse the GDP of Lesotho, like that's the f***in gig, you're a pro athlete and some people are mad because you lost in an embarrassing fashion again oh it's so unfair. That's the gig, you're well compensated for it, deal with it or don't, your choice.

If Leaf fans switch to the Kracken and just forget about this garbage sports franchise things would change. Nothing can change until the owners start losing money. This has been going on for decades, they make money no matter what garbage they put on the ice and every single year is excuses. Boy Buffoon blew the rebuild. Those 4 players arent worth anything close to what they are paid and how many draft picks have we given up for nothing? Our prospect pool is 20 th in the league now, its weak. They need a new GM to blow this team up and start all over, a real GM not a pink panty beta with no experience.

Just for argument's sake, let's say a full blown boycott was possible and actually happened.

What big changes do you suppose Leafs management would do that would improve results?

Don't need a boycott but in the good old days Shanny , Dubas and Keefe wouldn't have been able to go out in public without being spit on and pelted with tomatoes ......ahhhh the good old days .
