Post-Game Talk: We Blew a 3-0 Lead in the Third Period to the Oilers

i think it's underestimated how much having david quinn as their first coach set back kakko and lafreniere

they used to get benched or sent to the 4th line ALL THE TIME for stupid shit. at least Gallant lets them play.
Most coaches have little to nothing to do with the beginning of a player's career.

There are plenty of kids who come into the league every year who show their talents immediately. It's not because the coaches developed them.

Explain why a rookie #2 pick is out there in Seattle excelling on a Kraken squad led by Quinn? At what point do you put the development on the players themselves?
It can't be explained because it's a fallacy of a generality based on nothing and it's impossible to prove a relation exists between coaching and development.

They did the right thing sending Othmann back when he wasn't gonna play.

Next year, he should either be on the first line for Rangers or on the first line for the Wolf Pack. Those are your choices. I don't want him up here playing 12 minutes and doing Panarin's laundry.

If that's what he's gonna do, send him to Hartford. Shit or get off the pot.
You're pre-angry about how Othmann will be handled.

I knew there was something strange with Quinn begin with and this just proves my point.

Usually NTC's come with a list of teams that the player doesn't want to be traded to unlike an iron clad NMC. I wasn't sure which was the case with Panarin.
I'm pretty sure NTC can also be iron clad with no lists.....however, even with an iron clad NTC, you can be sent to the minors. Thanks to those NMCs, Rangers don't have that option.

Just to be clear, since there's another name near the top there, yes, Lafreniere scored in this game and was very good.

I'm talking bigger picture.

If he and Kakko were tearing it up and the team were winning, and we had this game, I would say "ah well too much turkey" and not give it a second thought.

I'm becoming seriously concerned about the failures of this rebuild to produce young talent.
There were alarm bells going off from day one of this rebuild because this organization was I’ll equipped to handle it in terms of their organizational personal, structure and belief.

Hartford is still a cancer not sure what in hell is going on down there with Jed f***ing ortmeyer.

Ideally you’d want your AHL team to actually foster talent and chemistry. Then start bringing them up together since they have chemistry.

Anderson gone, Kravtsov mishandling, lundkvist. Somethings been rotten at an organizational level for a long time.

I’m at the point where I think it’s like some shadow directive shit. Like “kids can’t be given PP1 time until urnt” ….. like this organization does the complete opposite of every other.

I think this organization was so afraid to fail with the kids at the helm that they set it up so they never got the keys. But if you never learn to drive how are you expected to know when the time comes?

Some other organizational shadow directives :
1) no drop back passes or cutting the middle of the ice, ever
2) when you’re on an odd man rush, stay in a straight line no matter what
3)always let the opposing team get the zone and never stand up at the blue line
4)you need to have an offense based on the stretch pass, even if it is 2022

Let me know if you guys think of anymore

Some of the talk about Panarin is kinda wild

He’s an amazing player. There are multiple guys I’d move first before considering him on the block
He is a great player. He is also near $12mm for primarily a PP weapon at a position we are deep at that also can’t seem to find chemistry w/ anyone but a weak 2C who is no longer here.

We have young players that need to start finding a lead offensive role on this team. That means big mins, including PP, and using cap to surround them w/ support. There’s only one move I can think of that accomplishes all those things. Moving Panarin. Cut his minutes until he wants out. Find a way.

I was one of the biggest proponents of hiring Gallant. Hell i wanted him before we hired Quinn. It's uhh, looking like i was wrong. He's proven he's really not good at ice-time management. Like worse than I had realized.

The lineup i'd like to see when everyone's healthy is:

Panarin-Zibanejad-Kravtsov
Laf-Trocheck-Kakko
Kreider-Chytil-Vesey
Blais-Goodrow-Gauthier

Lindgren-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Jones-Schneider

Shesterkin
Literally anyone but Halak

5)never shoot the puck because there's a probably a better opportunity.

It’s almost statistically impossible that Kravtsov, Anderson, lafreniere, and Kakko all bust.

There’s nature and nurture. Maybe you get one two even three that have different skill floors. But all of them? No it’s just not possible.

It’s nurture with this organization and has always been.

Until recently I would never think about trading him but I'm not sure he is as amazing as he used to be and I have consistently defended the guy. He was so-so last year and awful in the playoffs. He hasn't score a goal in 12 games and is barely a PPG player with a minus 8 +/-. If he isn't scoring at an elite level he does nothing else to help this team and he costs a lot. This team needs more north/south players who attack the net instead of perimeter players where Panarin plays.

,,,Anderson gone, Kravtsov mishandling, lundkvist. Somethings been rotten at an organizational level for a long time....
Anderson was drafted by previous management and so far, he hasn't looked any better in L.A.

Kravtsov wasn't mishandled. He mishandled his career and can't stay healthy. Also, previous management.

Lundqvist isn't scoring, but I have no idea how he's playing. Also, previous management.

This isn't a defense of Drury, but the players he's drafted are still unknowns.

The fact Panarin is a great player is why he can be very valuable to another team. A team that needs a LW, that can afford to allocate a lot of cap there and who needs a specialist to run their PP. We are not that team.

Most underrated Ranger ever, every season he's had has been like top 10 offensive season in Ranger history lmfao.

My only untouchables are Panarin, Shesterkin & Kravtsov.

I'd be pushing Trouba, Kreider & Mika out ASAP.
