WCSF: Vegas Golden Knights (P1) vs. Edmonton Oilers (P2) (VGK Lead 3-2)

Most teams tend to do that, it’s human nature. This playoffs alone how many comebacks have there been? Vegas is 5-1 so far. They are closing out. Doesn’t mean they can’t improve. Oilers can never really be counted out. Broissoit will need to be good.
They do it to an extent, Vegas you can almost set a watch to it. Personally I'm still waiting for at least one game this season where we don't let up at all.

If Cassidy is going to keep Brossait in net, Broassait needs to stay in his net. Two of the goals against him he was caught completely out of position. WTF was he doing on goal 3? Horrendous goaltending.

Oilers are terrible in Game 1s...1-8 in the McDavid era and that 1 win resulted in a series loss lol (Ducks 2017)

This Game 1 reminded me of last year against the Flames...Oilers never out of it despite playing like garbage, all because goaltending was shaky...I remember the Oilers couldn't handle the Flames speed and aggressiveness either but they adjusted...and they need better games from players outside of McDrai

Oil fans are right up there with Bruins fans for most of the league I think. It's odd because Edmonton is such a hot bed for hockey yet the fan base appears to be very uneducated in the sport.

Rich coming from what seems to be a Leafs fan...

Might've been a loss, but man was it nice to see Bieksa 100% disagree with Eakins on the panel.

Truly showed how little Eakins actually knows about what players think

Seemed like after that Elliotte was afraid to talk

That's what is left on current contract....

Fixed it for you ;)
Haha.

Well I do think he knows quite a bit to some degree. He just doesn't know how to execute.

He's whole 80% of the game is played 3 feet away from the boards was quite interesting. Now I have no idea if that number is correct or not, but it was an interesting point on how import learning to play along the boards is. Bieksa kinda gave him that one lol

Eakins reminds me of a GM who just looks at advanced stats, but can't put a whole team together properly.

Oh yeah, I agree. He was an NHL player...doesn't get there by not knowing the game.

And I agree with the bottom, that was quite interesting. But the thing is he never seems confident really in what he is saying. I remember watching his post games and I was just like "uh huh..."

Maybe he just isn't a made for TV personality? I dunno. But his coaching record also doesn't do him any favours either lol

Vegas badly misses MAF. Shouldn't have traded him. Sure MAF can be a hit or miss come playoff time but he's a HOF goalie and he doesn't make mistakes like Brossait did last night.

This is an interesting series to me because I, perhaps like many east coasters, do not follow VGK very closely. I had no idea Michael Amadio was an active part of an NHL roster, and he has what, five points through six games?

Reasonably happy with the outcome of last nights game considering the effort level displayed by the Oilers. I think the Knights did some good things, definitely need to focus on tying up sticks near the net, can't give up easy tip chances to their team.

I think the Oilers were extremely flat and as expected, all the practice in the world can't really prepare you, going from playing a team that has zero people in your D zone to a team that sends 2-3 forward to forecheck. If you break down the forecheck, you can have some pretty good success in transition, especially because I think LB is very shaky. Despite what pundits claimed from watching the Jets series.

Thought our PK did better than it showed in the LA series and our powerplay is still very hot. Skinner just needs to make 1/2 of those saveable saves and the team needs to skate and we will be fine.

He's solid at what he does, and when he scores you get to say his name, which is also really fun.

As I expected…….when you play 6 games against a team that doesn’t cross your blue line on the forecheck there was always going to be an adjustment against a team that can forecheck.

Oilers D were a mess last night and they best figure it out quickly or this won’t last long.
This was my biggest take away. Oilers are not used to dealing with a physical forecheck. You can see Ekholm especially was getting frustrated along with Nurse.

they'll need to move the puck faster and it may force them to sit further back in the zone anticipating a dump in. That will force the oilers forwards to cheat less on the offensive side of things as well.

It's going to be a major adjustment for them.

I love Flower.... but he is certainly capable of even grander and more embarrassing mistakes.

He's what I'd call depth utility. He plays like a second line 200 foot guy but his scoring is too inconsistent to rely on him as a top guy but you can expect secondary scoring and if need be he can be an injury replacement in the top 6.

Amadio has been playing very well. Barbashev too. Two very good additions this season for the Knights.
