I'd honestly just accept it without complaint if we lost this series and Leon Draisaitl was the only one to score goals for the Oilers. Like how could you be mad about something so unbelievable?
That would be funny, I could even be happy if the Oilers and Toronto won the cup if and only if their goaltender scores the cup winning goal.

Dude Edmonton you guys are the worst of fans. The excuses, and double standards, the refs after every lose. It's embarrassing

Vegas were constantly bringing their sticks on the players. Playing close is one thing, but when you're constantly raising sticks to the body, wrapping around, checking for obstruction when you shouldn't. It looked like a Lemaire team. I hate teams that are constantly pushing the limits of infraction. There are other ways to play the game tight that isn't despicable. A team that plays like that should pay the bill, yet Edmonton only got 3 powerplays? Yeah, I can fully understand their anger. It's series management. The league seems intent on prolonging series as much as possible. Ka-ching.

Oilers need some goaltending. By far biggest weakness
Oilers fans are so accustomed to dog poo goaltending that when their goalie makes 2 decent saves and allows a softie every third shot, they still respond with 'but think about those 2 saves, he was really keeping us in the game'.

I think that comes with having two superheroes on the team who usually can score anytime they want. Imagine Skinner on a normal offensively challenged squad. He'd be out of the league in a week.

You must have watched a different game last night? That’s not at all what Vegas was doinng

A few observations:

-Vegas is so damn good at defending and transitioning out of their own zone. It’s really something to behold.

- Edmonton is going to need way better goaltending. I see a lot of issues with Skinner’s game. I know Campbell has had a rough year but he’s at least proven he has the ability to steal a game for his team during his career. I’d consider a switch.

I don't think it is a surprise the Oilers are targeting Stone.

That being said, I find it ironic Sportsnet was crying last year about teams targeting McDavid. And now suddenly they think it's completely acceptable to target star players lol.
I'm pretty sure teams were targeting Draisaitl's ankle when he was pretty much playing on one leg. The Knights also were a pretty dodgy team under DeBoer. The game is just brutal.

Still think that it shows pretty clearly how Draisaitl has higher hockey IQ than McDavid.

McDavid's constantly attempting low percentage plays, which he can almost get away with due to his skill. Draisaitl isn't nearly as fast in skating or stickhandling, but his moves tend to be more efficient and effective.

I think McDavid could be much more effective if he played just a bit smarter.
This was just a bad example game from Mcdavid. If you watch the Oilers on a regular basis you would know Drai turns over the puck a hell of a lot more than Mcdavid.

It must be so cool to have two first ballot hall of famers in their primes play on your team at the same time. Out of youngers fans only Pitts fans know what this feels like.

Im jealous.

I think it would be extremely frustrating if you aren't winning cups.

EDM, needs to be so much better. That was one of the worst performances I've seen yet. Could have been 5-0.

So, uh, why do Edmonton have to give up their goals and the Knights get to keep theirs?

Honestly Skinner was bad at times, but man did our defensive zone coverage blow a lot too.

Way to often the Knights had clear shots to the net from all over the place

Except that Vegas does turn turtle, often with only a one-game lead. It's Casidy's modus operandi, the Bruins fans warned us about it, and sure enough Cassidy turned turtle all season long. Even tonight, Vegas went into the turtle after going up 4-2 and of course that resulted in a 4-3 game at the very end and much more drama than there needed to be.

Wash-Rinse-Repeat. If Vegas gets a lead next game, Cassidy will do it again. Just wait and watch.
Most teams tend to do that, it’s human nature. This playoffs alone how many comebacks have there been? Vegas is 5-1 so far. They are closing out. Doesn’t mean they can’t improve. Oilers can never really be counted out. Broissoit will need to be good.

I thought Vegas played very well in the first. Solid in the second but with less focus. Sat on the lead in the third after they went up by two and we're sort of just doing enough to keep Edmonton away. They didn't play their best for a full 60 and definitely dropped the ball on suppressing Draisaitl in their focus on suffocating McDavid. But I wouldn't say they played poorly either. Surely not Edmonton's best, but also not the capacity of what Vegas can do either. I'm not expecting either team to be an easy out.
Both teams made some mistakes I thought last night, but I really thought we feel apart defensively far too much. Skinner actually settled in and kept us in when you guys had open lanes or shots on the net.

Going 11-7 also had it pains for us. Especially with Janmark going down so early.

Saturday should be interesting. Both teams have a lot of time to watch film and adjust for game 2 now
