We didn't look good in Anaheim, if you look at it from an unbiased point of view.

We were lucky to escape with a win in game 1. And we went into prevent mode in game 2 and survived that.

We looked like total excrement both games in Staples. Worst two playoff games I've ever had the misfortune to witness first-hand. Just so disappointed. This is not championship caliber. Not at all.

They won Game 4 doing the same thing, seems like a wash.

sucks to lose these 2 on the road, but at least were going home to Honda center lol...

Then this will really piss you off.

Clifford+Lewis over the last two years (this is combined folks)

47 points , 21 goals 240 NHL games. 2 + million cap hit's(combined cap hit).

Dwight King"

124 NHL games, 20 goals 40 points, Below 800k Capt hit.

King is not a problem (yet)

He may not be the main problem, but It's a waste of a roster spot, period. for a player below 800k I would much rather have someone who at least provides energy and throws a check intentionally once in a while.

So pretty much Nolan?

I really don't get how some fans defend a coach/player to no end. I understand loyalty and all, but it's just beyond me to take it to such an extent.

Of course everyone on the team deserves blame, but Sutter deserves a huge chunk of it. Saying he wasn't on the ice so it's not his fault just doesn't make sense. What's odd is I don't see that mentality much in any other sport, but it pervades hockey for some reason. Of course the players have to execute, but having the right mix of players on the ice and the right strategy goes a long way towards maximizing offense and defense and that aspect of the game is pretty much all on the coach. I'm puzzled how some fans can't realize that the lines do matter and Sutter blowing them up for the last 2 games has really hurt the team's chances.

So has the teams play. Some of the players have really contributed poorly. Everyone makes mistakes but some guys (like Voynov and Richards, imo) really seem to underperform. Richards best place really seems to have been on the 4th line and Voynov and a couple of the other players need to stop making bad decisions but that's not likely to happen.

I know 99% will probably disagree with me on this but if we lose this series I think Sutter should probably be fired. Yes I know it's not going to happen but I think Sutter's coaching is the biggest problem we've had this series. It's crazy how he can make some great decisions and then make big decisions that pretty much everyone realizes is a bad idea. That's not something that is going to get us back to the cup.

Disagree with the last part, but agree with the rest of it. But I'm not blaming Sutter above anyone else tbh, I think earlier i said top-to-bottom. That's Sutter, players, everyone. It's a shame that we're more successful when Boudreau gets to dictate the matchups, that's just bizarre, and to run away from what worked is puzzling at best. Maybe the complexion of the game is different and we don't win anyway because the players don't perform, but I've can't recall seeing a coach actively move away from success. Unless there's something we're not privy to.

I don't think I have a better reaction to game 4 than this.

I don't even think Richards has been playing well on the Fourth line.

That's your guy's eyes playing tricks on you.

Since this series has started the Kings have had one good Center(Kopitar).

2-4 have sucked pretty much since game one.

Carter/Stoll/Richards have been getting outplayed since Game one of this series.

At this point I would move Richards to wing, keep him away from the Center ice position.

Maybe even move Carter back to wing, he is hurt (obviously) and not shooting or defending.

Kings have been weak down the middle these last four games, it finally showed up on the scoreboard.

I don't know Ron , something about Staples this year.

Kings are not getting up for home games, been that way since the break if you ask me.

Tell me about it. I've been to all of them and a lot of disappointment walking up those stairs to go home.

They need to find a way to get their mojo back at home. I'm amazed at how different they play on the road, especially in the playoffs (sans those two disasters in José).

neutral fan here with some observations..have watched very little of the Kings this year but watched all of tonight...a few questions/comments...

Hi! Always nice to see fans of other teams pop in. Sometimes I wonder if anyone other than West Coasters watch our games.

1. I don't think you played badly, given you gave up only 3 shots in the last 40 minutes..that's actually pretty sick...if you put that together for an extended time, you'll still win the series..

Ah, but you see, the Kings still have to find a way to score goals.

2. John Gibson played well but was not seriously challenged...why so much trouble getting guys in front of the net..your forwards are huge..
"You go ahead, I insist. I'll just stand over here out of your way."

3. every time I saw Martin Jones this year I like what I see...is there any chance he actually starts game 5...he looks more athletic than Gibson..what is his positional play like? mental strength?

I will let someone else answer about Martin Jones' play and mental strength, but Sutter would sooner do the can-can in front of reporters than start anyone else but Quick for Game 5. Quick's our man.

4. Wow Richards doesn't look like the same player of his rep....what happened to him?

We don't know!

If only Jordan Weal was bigger and stronger. He can bring out the scoring in almost any winger, it seems. I was pumping Deslauriers' tires on the Buffalo board after he took over the Monarchs' team lead in goals, but once he left Weal his scoring dried up quite a bit in Buffalo and Rochester.

KAs I said earlier, Kings were not prepared in the first period to play with any intensity. Not sure why Sutter would bounce around the lines when they had success before. Mind you, he did that half way through the year when things were going well and changed that success pretty quick. Kings gave the rookie goaltender the confidence in the first period to play well when the heat came on in the second and third periods. First goal the defenseman didn't handle Perry very well behind the net, he snapped the puck to the front and Richards didn't pick up the forward cruising into the slot. No chance for Quick. Second goal was a fluky bounce off a Kings' chest during a power play and that was that. Carter's either hurt or on the down-side of a streak; I think Kopitar's maybe labouring a bit too. Gaborik was Gaborik; plays well when things are good but otherwise, blah. Don't know what's happened to Dwight King's game but it's disappeared into the Pacific sunset.

Kings have been streaky all year so 2 straight losses should not be surprising; they ended the year with a loss, followed by 3 straight losses and then 6 straight wins and now 2 losses. At one point in the year, they had 9 wins in 10 games and followed that with 5 straight losses. They'd better change that aspect of their game real quick or else......

I still think LA can pull this out. Sutter is the best coach the Kings have had in my 25 years of watching. He has forgotten more than I'll ever know about hockey. The Ducks made adjustments and he felt he needed to do the same. Still, don't like separating TT and Pearson, Carter and Richards together, or Williams with Kopi/ Gabby.

Vatanen and Gibson could turn the tide for the Ducks if LA doesn't find an answer.

Throw Vey in Sutter, the youth injection is working for Anaheim...their young guys on def are too quick for our older forwards esp Richie. We need more speed. Cmon Daryl grow a pair!

Why the heck did we sign Lewis if we want bottom six scoring. Vey was supose to take his spot..

I think Shore is going to be the 3rd line center, replacing Stoll, but will start next season as the 4th line ctr.

Vey? He is more of a #2 center, but may not get that chance here.

The Kings just can't stop making history this year :P Onto the next game. Still a long ways left in this series.
