Nino was a BEAST through the whole game. Our future is bright. Coyle= beast. Granlund = beast. Hell, even Haula= beast.

It does look promising. I just hope it starts producing more goals. Just keeping the puck a long the boards isn't going to be enough.

Back to Colorado they go. Win or they're done. Hopefully they can come out strong and get an early goal. Got the match up I wanted for the 2nd round. Now they just have to get there.

And are their any PP specialist out there the Wild can hire? That 5 on 3 was horrible. Their PP is too predictable. It's pretty much Koivu, Suter, Parise and Pominville passing back and forth a long the perimeter.

They are. I picked up a set for my son this weekend. Maybe jumped the gun a bit... he's only 16 months old. lol

I'm fairly certain I have the same set that I bought for my son on his 2nd birthday. He didn't quite know how to use it at first, but he's 3 now and he sets it up every now and then and we have a good time. Enjoy!

To be fair (been listening since 7am), I thought they did a good job today compared to other days. 85% was Wild talk, especially after Mark Rosen joined. The other 15% was Vikings talk. All things considered (what's going on at the moment vs. what keeps listeners from changing the station/$$$), I thought the coverage was pretty good today.

I probably started listening at the wrong time, but their coverage of the Wild is usually laughable, and the segment I listened to only supported that theory. I guess what bothered me most is how the DJ's talked about the Wild vs. how they talked about the Vikings, like the Wild being in the playoffs was cool and all, but hey, we have the Vikings doing more important things in April!

Probably just caught me at a bad time. ;)

I know. The thing that kills me is KFAN just signed a new extension to cover the Wild for the next three years, but since the majority of their DJ's know nothing about hockey, they just skip over it. It's just sad that Vikings practice in freaking April seems to take priority over a Wild playoff win to force Game 7.

Thank God for Mileski, Micheletti and the occasional Lou Nanne appearance.

It hardly took priority. They have > 3 hours to fill, and they can't do it all on a singular topic.

They seem to not have a problem doing it every other day with Vikings news.

No...even with big Vikings news it's never 100%. On normal days with no big things from any team in particular, it's Vikings, Twins and T-wolves mixed to varying degrees. This past week it's been 85% Wild coverage as they're the only SIGNIFICANT news.

I'm admittedly not much of a Vikings fan, so I'm probably a little oversensitive to the coverage ratios, but I guess I'll have to agree to disagree. I have a 180 minute round-trip commute on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays every week and I catch the morning show and Barriero in the afternoon. The coverage may not be 100% Vikings, but it is significant (for reasons that I don't like, but understand) and most other sports are given a brief mention and then it's on to the next topic.

This week has been good with Wild coverage though, but like I said before, this morning probably just caught me in the wrong mood.

I've really grown to dislike Stastny this series.

Him and Landeskog. On the other hand I have tremendous respect for Ryan O'Reilly, he's a player every coach would love. Great effort on both sides of the ice. His takeaways are just dirty.

I can't hate Mackinnon either. Just an electric talent.

Agreed with everything. I've also liked Nick Holden for some reason.

Never too early! At that age my kid was definitely watching me play hockey and had that little Wild plastic stick with some foam balls. He's now a pretty dang good stickhandler at 5.

KFAN has Mileski/Micheletti who are fantastic, Lou Nanne who is a treasure, and Russo Radio all over the place which is self-explanatory. Yeah none of the regulars know hockey, but it's going to be like that everywhere in the US.

Yesterday on my way home from work I listened to Nanne and Russo. Pretty solid.

What do Tommy Gormon, Dick Irvin and Scotty Bowman have in common? Answer that question and then you know why "prior cups mean nothing".

Laviollete has been run out of the last two towns in which he coached...and while he was at it, he ran Richards and Carter out of Philly (Google "Dry Island"). His style of play does not fit with the players on this team, nor does it fit with the style of play in the West.

Laviollette didn't run Richards and Carter out, Ed Snider traded them.

EVERY coach gets "run out of town", aside from when they retire.

Agree completely. Add Erik Johnson to your list of Ladenskog and Stastny though too.

Should Matt Moulsson play in our top6? He is so useless:help:
Obv he is not a checking type player but from a pure top6-perspective Id rather have Nino or Haula there.

Why? I just provided irrefutable evidence that it doesn't mean anything.

:laugh::laugh:

In related news, the NHL will no longer keep score since wins "don't mean anything." All that matters is that coaches are nice to players. Don't want to offend anyone now do we? Everyone gets a gold star and an A for effort. Hooray! ;)

Loving this series. Thoroughly entertaining.

So, has there been much pissing and moaning about the Avs refusing to get out of a 1-3-1? Could you imagine the bleep storm if the Wild were employing it? :sarcasm:

Guys just forget the mainboard. Leave it there. Don't bring it back here with you.

And if you see posts there that you feel are breaking the rules, report them.

Huge test for Kuemper, hoping our D buckles down and doesn't take any crap in the crease

Yep. And hopefully they don't give them any after-the-whistle festivities

For sure. The Wild need to do their best to keep this game 5v5. With the speed and skill of their forwards, I consider a 4v4 an Avs PP (and they probably do as well). So, the Wild players need to be very disciplined after the whistle. NO RETALIATIONS!!!
