Actually, didn't Kane get rocked by Clifford?

Speaking of which, Clifford also had a strong game.

Yes....but keep rocking him! The guy has zero ability if you hit him. Watch the Olympics.....he was routinely muscled off the puck and pushed wide in the offensive zone.

The penalty on A-Mart was a massive dive by Bollig. He was smirking about it before he even got up off the ice.

I disagree. It was not pissed away. This game is tied and going to OT if Toffoli doesn't hit the post on a clean deke. Hawks survived. Pure and simple. No one else is giving our team credit.....we should not be denying them as well. Every series so far, I feel, has slanted to the opposing team when it comes to announcers and intermission comments. It's really frustrating. All the Kings have is us.

Perfectly said. It was not just luck. The Kings did not just piss the game away. The Hawks did what was necessary to survive. Hats off to them.

What was really encouraging was that there was no "answer" that the Hawks came up with for the Kings' play. Drastic difference from last year, where it was the other way around and it really showed up on the scoreboard. Today the Kings dictated play for a majority of the game, and I have to think that the team that is under the eight-ball to make adjustments are the Hawks, not the Kings (apart from Schultz studying some video). Very much reminded me of Game 3 in the San Jose series.

Anyone is off their game if their hit all the time. Trick is to do it. Try scoring goals and quit worrying about chicago s snipper s.

We played WAY better than I expected on a short break vs. a rested team at home. We outplayed them for large chunks of the game, and if Toffoli had scored (which he really SHOULD have done honestly) we'd have gone to overtime with a shot to win it. The Kings didn't lose, the Hawks got lucky. This series is looking like it will be VERY competitive and the Kings will have better than a half chance at taking it.

Also, sadly, games like this are what make Quick's save percentage suck

The only thing that makes me sad about this is that you know there will be some main board threads about Quick being overrated or Crawford >= Quick. Just something annoying to endure... for now.

Agreed. I'm not going to blame the refs for the outcome because ultimately you have to kill it. And the only reason we didn't was because we didn't get the puck out. But when the guy actively falls and starts laughing immediately he just embarrassed the refs. My bigger beef with it is the climate, they said it's ok to crash quick and not ok to crash Crawford giving the amount of facepunching that was let go in front of him. Manage the game climate. I know others disagree with good cause--Mitchell was already tangled with him, the time that had transpired, etc.--but to me, if you're going to give the benefit of the doubt to the front-net shenanigans all game, you just can't call that one, the play that happens 100 times a game. Just my .02 cents.

You said it better than I could on my broken English typing on my phone.

So what happens when the opposition crashes the crease and throws quick off of his game? People will say we need to get gritty in front of the net and show them none of that will stand, doubly in the playoffs.

What I am more upset About is Toffoli (whom I love don't get me wrong) missing that breakaway and Schult's innabillity to clear during a PK.

Don't know if anyone else caught it, but after the wave of of the Voynov skate goal Quenville went ape on a ref and you can't see the ref mouth "don't call me a **** sucker".

When did the Hawks turn into a bunch of divers? I saw at least 4, and that one on Bollig... come on! I can barely skate and I'd have stayed on my feet.

He looked strong today imo. Can't stop double-deflections and that 3-1 was THE play people use to beat Quick, cross-ice one-timer to the top of the net.

I'm not saying that. I'm saying historically. He looked good today. I just don't remember him being god mode against the Hawks.

He said it was rolling off his stick as he shot, and knows he should've buried it. 9 times out of ten it goes in. Now Clifford having a wide open top of the net and shooting into Crawford chest is another story...
