After seeing 2 periods of a game like that, after 39 hours off a game, meh. They can have this one NHL ****ed us with this scheduling, we don't look worse for wear I'm in for next game, might take the day off.

Sorry you didn't get to see a win tonight, Herby. Those have been hard to come by out there for the Kings.

Been here 5 years. The Kings are 2 and lord knows what in the games I've seen here. I thought when TT scored on that breakaway that maybe that was going to be different from other games because a big issue here is the Kings getting down multiple goals. Like I said in my other post though, after the Kings weathered the storm early you could feel the crowd starting to slow down then AMart's Clifford really changed the dynamic of the game.

Think perhaps we may see Greene inserted in and paired with Martinez and Mitchell bumped up with Voynov, so that Slava has a partner who can cover up for his mistakes.

Schultz was a formidable fill in for spot duty and I wouldn't mind having him back as a #7 dman, but Chicago exposed his slow reactions and timidness and took advantage whenever he was on the ice. Felt like they had their best opportunities with Voynov and Schultz were on the ice.

This will be an excellent series. Chicago in 6 is still my view. You're right, the Hawks aren't as deep and as mentally focused as they were last year. But the extra rest helps us, and Shaw should be back by the time we go to LA.

Refs were brutal today. No calls aplenty. But not going to piss and moan with a W. We know how the Kings want to play and just need to handle it accordingly. Kings are a team Chicago respects, as we should.

Kings getting rest really helps them a lot more than the Hawks I can tell you that right now.

Cheers man. Should be a good one.

Honestly did anyone expect the Kings to win game one on Chicago (where Hawks are strong) on a Sunday afternoon with less than 48 hours rest.....

Not happening folks , the only hope was that the Hawks didn't show up. Game two is a much better gauge of how the series will trend.

Nope.

ar·ro·gance noun \ˈer-ə-gən(t)s, ˈa-rə-\ : an insulting way of thinking or behaving that comes from believing that you are better, smarter, or more important than other people.

I think if Toffoli got the second goal, it would have changed the game, but who knows? They went back and forth a lot. Hawks just got more goals out of the exchanges.

The PK has to be better though. This was a surprisingly disciplined game for the Kings, but they effectively gave up 2 PP goals(1 being on a delayed call 3 on 1 of course). That's not good. If the Kings only go to the box 3 times in a game, they should be killing all three.

Pretty much no point in watching then according to that line of thinking. I guess the Kings shouldn't bother playing anymore games.

The series is not over till someone wins four, then we can crap all over the roster and hate ourselves.

Didn't you just say there was no way we were winning game one, anyway? So why did YOU watch today?

I'm just pointing out the facts. The Kings more than played well enough to win this game and failed. That's a huge disappointment in a series with little room for error.

I DON'T want the Hawks to win because they'll eviscerate whatever bantam team comes out of the east and all we'll hear about for 20 years was how good the Hawks were in the 2010s, an era in which our team had its best teams. You want to forever be second place from this era, then fine, but I want to see another Cup in my lifetime and our window is open right now. I'll trade every 0-3 comeback for another Cup and to truly have something to be proud about and point back to when I start teaching my kids about hockey.

Edit: To clarify, I'm okay with being just plain outplayed and losing. To put up such a good performance and whiff on so many golden opportunities is maddening and hopefully it doesn't come back to bite us in this series.

Schultz has been carrying that pairing , Slava is going to be bad with what ever partner. It just going to be that way till slava figures himself and his game out in the off-season.

God! The NBC local reporter is freaking horrible. This guy at one point almost call the LA Kings LA Galaxy.
Sorry Mario, you need to get back on the grass game, this game is on ice.

You are fortunate to have seen one Cup win, enjoy it. It may never happen again , ever.

So far we a pic of Gandalf and a guy cooking in a cauldron, and half cookie in this pgt lol, much better fan base

I think the biggest question for the Kings after Game 1 will be what to do with the #6 d-man slot, assuming RR is still not going to play, and I don't believe he took the warm-up among the about 40 guys it felt like took it. I think sitting Greene in favor of Schultz was pretty telling, many Kings have struggled over the years against Chicago, but Matt Greene was probably at a level worse than anyone else, I think the writing is on the wall, Sutter doesn't trust Greene against Chicago. But Schultz was bad today, really bad, especially on the PK, he has a real tough time getting it out of the zone. Losing RR was a huge loss because the Kings have only 6 NHL ccaliber defenders available and when you lose one you resort to fringe guys like Schultz and Greene in a conf. finals series.
