Christ man, now I really want us to win 4 games in the dirtiest, most controversial way possible.

Flying elbows, exploding knees, stolls intro 101 boarding. Quick pummeling Crawfords ugly face into a pulp. Yes.

I think the biggest question for the Kings after Game 1 will be what to do with the #6 d-man slot, assuming RR is still not going to play, and I don't believe he took the warm-up among the about 40 guys it felt like took it. I think sitting Greene in favor of Schultz was pretty telling, many Kings have struggled over the years against Chicago, but Matt Greene was probably at a level worse than anyone else, I think the writing is on the wall, Sutter doesn't trust Greene against Chicago. But Schultz was bad today, really bad, especially on the PK, he has a real tough time getting it out of the zone. Losing RR was a huge loss because the Kings have only 6 NHL ccaliber defenders available and when you lose one you resort to fringe guys like Schultz and Greene in a conf. finals series.

Options are limited ,slava is not going to carry or shelter a rookie , Mitchell is not going to carry Slava , Schultz is going to struggle with Hawks speed, Greene as well. I know people want to see Bods or McNabb, but Sutter is not going to trust those guys, and on bottom pairings their partners can't cover for them

Options are limited.

You are fortunate to have seen one Cup win, enjoy it. It may never happen again , ever.

Maybe you're right. I still see a team that is willing itself to get it done this year with a window open. Most teams only have one true window year (Canucks) and this is our third in a row. To see the team piss away a golden opportunity like today's game is frustrating.

I think Schultz just needs to watch the video. He's a professional, I think if he just sees how much time he actually had and how much help and options his teammates were giving him, he'll make the necessary adjustments. As bad as he was today, I think he's still the best option for Game 2.

Holy **** intro to boarding by Stoll.

And when Stoll does take someone out we will pretend to feel bad..
but in reality

We will be like this..

Or at least I know I will be.

Kings had no puck luck this game, but this one was one they could have won. Toffoli has to score on that breakaway.

It's a toss up who was the worst player on the ice between Williams and Schultz. But ultimately this is going to be the same story as last series , we need Kopitar to outplay Toews just like he outplayed Getzlaf, today that didn't happen. Kopi's line had some rushes but was pinned down quite a bit in our zone.

As far as Martinez, this is a Kings GDT so I assume there were 50 posts blaming the refs, but to me it's just a ridiculously stupid play by a guy not known for it. What exactly is AMart trying to do there, the Hawks stupid nobody 12th forward stops a foot in front of Quick and is engaged by Mitchell and 5 seconds after the whistle he knocks him down. I thought the Kings did a solid job of weathering the early storm and were ready to play Kings hockey and that penalty changed everything, there is just no excuse for it, again I didn't get a great look because it was on the opposite side, someone text me that Bollig's flopped, but even if he did, don't even give the refs a chance to make that call, very disappointed in Martinez.

Oh well, will post when I get home. Game 2 now becomes a must win IMO.

I defiantly respect your opinion Herby, and in no way am I a fan who blames refs for the outcome of the game, but I think you are a little harsh on A Mart. This is going to sound cliche, but he is setting a precedence to the hawks not to crash on Quick. It is a big of a playoff message I suppose. Now take that for what it is worth, as I was the kind of player that put a little in a little more emotion when I played; but we can't have guys crashing Quick like Brown did.

on 48 hours rest, a flight east and jacked schedule this wasn't a surprise. in fact, i am pleased with LA's stats because if they keep the same going forward the ice will tilt in their favor.

i still say LA in 6 on Staples ice for the clinch

Given the short turn around after game 7 I'm not too worried. We did a lot of things right that game and looked a lot better than we did in the games we lost in the previous two series.

A couple days off should do wonders. This series won't be defined until one team takes a game on the road.

Hawks got lucky. Simple as that. The Hawks got a lucky win against a really tired Kings team. That's a huge positive.
^^^^^^this. This is exactly what I saw. Hawks were almost tied in the third to a tired LA Kings team. They got their first goal gifted to them by the ref's then get a lucky bounce. Taves (that's how you spell it) goal would never have happened if the Kings were not taking chances that they could not make up for due to exhaustion.
I can't stand Hawk fans. Zero class. They don't see hockey, they see Hawks. Cook as hell. They forget, or they never paid attention, that the Kings rolled over for them last year. St Louis and San Jose beat the Kings for them.
Karma has to side with us. Kane needs to get rocked. I mean someone needs to hit him as hard as possible on a clean check. He is squirrely but he has no physical presence.

Agreed. I'm not going to blame the refs for the outcome because ultimately you have to kill it. And the only reason we didn't was because we didn't get the puck out. But when the guy actively falls and starts laughing immediately he just embarrassed the refs. My bigger beef with it is the climate, they said it's ok to crash quick and not ok to crash Crawford giving the amount of facepunching that was let go in front of him. Manage the game climate. I know others disagree with good cause--Mitchell was already tangled with him, the time that had transpired, etc.--but to me, if you're going to give the benefit of the doubt to the front-net shenanigans all game, you just can't call that one, the play that happens 100 times a game. Just my .02 cents.

Actually, didn't Kane get rocked by Clifford?

Speaking of which, Clifford also had a strong game.

Clifford has looked really good for the last several games, hope he can keep up the persistence. Nice when our 4th line isn't a complete liability.

I disagree. It was not pissed away. This game is tied and going to OT if Toffoli doesn't hit the post on a clean deke. Hawks survived. Pure and simple. No one else is giving our team credit.....we should not be denying them as well. Every series so far, I feel, has slanted to the opposing team when it comes to announcers and intermission comments. It's really frustrating. All the Kings have is us.

I have watched enough hockey to know that the referees are, in general, not biased. They may miss calls. Some teams may know how to play in ways that will exploit the refs being human. In fact, our team is pretty good at it too. They are just an added bit of uncertainty in the game that all teams need to deal with, and the really good teams realize that and just keep playing their game.
