If there's any people who should be nervous about the Oilers finishing the series, it should be Oiler fans.

Death.
Taxes.
Oilers Oilering.

As one of the more positive and optimistic (sometimes too much so), these are the only three certainties in my life.

Good luck, Stars fans. Been a great series so far.

Tomorrow will be the most important game in the McDavid era so far. They better coup de grace it.

This thread has been an absolute beauty for all those who hate Edmonton.
posts like these come back to often bite. I see it as a Leafs fan all the time. That one guy you quoted wasn’t even that bad in his take. Series isn’t over yet and the way the oilers performed against the canucks there was plenty of reason to seriously doubt them coming into this series. It’s not a case of boohoo everyone hates us.

let the chickens hatch before counting them my guy. going for the oilers now as well

In no way did I say the series is over, or did I?

Heck, maybe the Stars win in 7. That doesn't take away from all the posters who claimed Edmonton is going to get dummied by the Stars.

Edmonton has proven a lot of people wrong already

Auston Matthews career playoffs: 48 points

Connor McDavid last 15 months: 49 playoff points

The playoff gap is massive.
Yeah but what you’re not mentioning is that Matthews is so good defensively they can’t get out of the first round

"I'm not gonna do it. You go ahead and write whatever the f*** you want."
The guy was pissed Edmonton media didn't abandon Edmonton during the season to follow around the Dallas stars. Probably one of the more unhinged post game interviews I have ever seen.

hindsight is always 20/20. some people just want to see everything in a negative they always hate us mindset and some people just enjoy the moment. the reason ppl thought Edmonton was going to get dummied was no one’s fault but Edmonton’s or more specifically their play. Stuart Skinner looking like an ECHL goalie, going down 2-3 against a 3rd string goalie playing average, looking helpless if McDrai don’t get on the board etc. It was all earned. And now they look like a different team. good for them

The oilers killing off over 20 straight pk’s is a team of destiny type of stat. Especially when you consider it’s not like they have prime hasek in net.

With that being said there’s still lots of work to be done, but they just seem to be clicking in all aspects. I said after game 1 that Dallas not scoring on that 4 min OT PP will cost them the series.

New PK coach this year is really killing it. And the team was built in mind that the scoring can and will come from the big boys. So it’s okay to get cheap dedicated role players down the line up that focus on nearly exclusively their work outside of production.

It's such an insane luxury to have knowing your top players will produce every single night almost guaranteed. I'm jealous

Yeah they showed a graphic last night and they've killed off the last 25 in a row. It's actually insane. Had no idea it had been so immaculate.

Yeh it’s not lost on me how lucky we are as Oilers fans. McDrai are truly in generational class. Then Bouchard decides to join them this year. Rest of the top 6 just perfect complements to them with Hyman, Nuge, Kane, etc.

Allows the depth guys to just focus and get their job done.

Well, I'm on Oilers bag wagon. And wish them the Stanley CUP. That will close the Mathews vs McDavid comparaison.
This was never open for people with brains

Like I said, alot of comparaison has been done.....between the best player in the world and 34 with or without brain.;)

You have a defensemen that doesn’t get scored on eating up 1/3 to 1-2 of a game. That is also an insane luxury to have, teams are built different and teams can win different ways.

Dallas young players are too young and raw, Dallas old players don’t have enough youth and gas.

The scary thing about this already good Dallas team is that they are only going to get better as the younger players become more established and the older players comes off the books and are replaced with players in their prime via free agency or trade.

Didn't see the Oilers shutting down the Stars like this, especially after the Stars success in their previous 2 series. The Oilers have controlled play so much and haven't had to rely on Skinner too much this series. Series is not over, as Dallas showed in their comeback against Vegas, but the tide is completely in Edmonton's favor.

If the Panthers and Oilers both advance, it will set the record for the longest distance between finals opponents, on the 20th anniversary of the SCF between the OTHER Florida and Alberta teams.

this series is going 7 games. Dallas wins game 6 easy!

Game 7: Skinner effs up
The whole method in game 6 and 7 of last series and in the majority of games this series has been to not allow Skinner the opportunity to eff it up. As long as they play like they have, they should have a good chance of closing this out.
