Vlad has as many goals as Sammy Blais does since the trade.
When we get Kane there’s no way they don’t play him with PanarinHe was good with Panarin and Trocheck.
He's been horrendous with Zibanejad and Kreider.
Gallant is turning this into Eric Staal pt 2. Just play him with Panarin and Trocheck.
He shouldn't be on a team with Kreider and Zibanajad nor Panarin nor Trocheck nor Laf or any other current NY Ranger player. I think that's the main problem. Drury got duped. All I know is, he shouldn't be on a line with Kreider and Zibanejad. Either put him with Panarin and Trocheck or maybe give him a run with Laf and Fil.
Don't want to be too critical but, he's reminding me of Laffy when we were all over him. He's really non-existent for the most part. You think this dude, who wants one more big contract, would be a little more engaged, no?
I too prefer the younger and lesser known names, but that apparently isn't what is making Drury tick. Impressing Dolan apparently is. Maybe I am wrong. With this talent on PP, we should be clicking on at least 35%. Imo.They should have just traded a second and Hunter Skinner (Rangers trade tax as always) for Barbshev and then gone after Kulikov.
That's pretty much what I would do. Only negative would be splitting the kids up, but they should and probably will get over it.When we get Kane there’s no way they don’t play him with Panarin
Maybe it could be
Kreider - Zibanejad - Kakko
Panarin - Trocheck - Kane
Lafreniere - Chytil - Tarasenko
Motte - Goodrow - Vesey
He just looks like someone who is still getting comfortable. He physically engages here and there, but we need him to be more assertive and shoot more. It will be bad if he is still playing this way in the playoffs
You haven't watched him very long, he doesn't have a one-timer. I can probably count on my hands and feet how many one-timers i've seen him take, and those have almost all been in the last 3 years since he doesn't have the wrist shot anymore. Had he developed a 1T in his younger years, he would have been a 45+ goal scorer instead of a consistent 30-35 goal guy.I really see the biggest problem is the team doesn't know how to use him. The 5-on-3, Fox had multiple chances to throw the puck to him with space and Tarasenko could have absolutely wired a one timer. But he didn't. Skated to the middle of the ice and passed left the first time, the second time, skated to the middle and shot to Kreider for the deflection goal.
Yea people kind of just assume he has a one timer because he’s considered a sniper, I don’t recall ever seeing him scoring on one lolThat's pretty much just how Tarasenko is.

Lmao, wtf??I've given it a few weeks. It's even worse than I originally thought. We've been linked with Tarasenko for YEARS and it was always a terrible idea and waste of good assets.
Tarasenko is not worth what was given up. It's not as bad as the Tanner Jeannot deal, but I might rather have Jeannot honestly.
This team just continuously trades away it's future when we aren't in a real position to contend. And Tarasenko really doesn't put us over the top.
Drury was not the man for this job. He's following Lou's lead from the island. Except Lou got an in his prime Horvat and we get a fading, injury prone, 2nd tier guy. Wonderful. Islanders still won't win anything, but at least they got Horvat blowing up the net. We get Tarasenko, a few handfuls of assists and a constant injury bug, who's long past his prime.
Of all the drafts not to move a 1st round pick... this is the one. We stood a good chance of legitimately getting a future 1/2 C from this draft pool, even where we will be picking. And to give an opportunity at that up, for Tarasenko and another year of failure.... it's just, so consistent at this point. And I'm sitting here looking at the Devils thinking, how the heck did they do that? And we did this?
I've just stopped expecting anything different. The only reason we had a stock of assets to do anything with in the first place, is wholly due to the previous administration.

Doesn't have the wrist shot anymore lmao.
It may be all he has
