Still unsure about him vs Rundblad?I feel like I am finally comfortable admitting that he is a better hockey player than Turris was.
He was injured and got traded for the first time in his career last year. These are factors that cannot be overlooked. He was really good last night in all 3 zones. He's a way better player in his own zone than people give him credit for. He's good at the blue lines which this team really struggles at. He doesn't turn the puck over in danger spots. That's winning hockey.Did not actually motivate him at all last year. He dropped from 82 points to 50 despite playing more games .....
Then you're lost. The play he made on the goal was all world.Did what he had to do last night like everyone. Don’t think he was individually brilliant or anything
Yea it was a nice play. Then you're lost. The play he made on the goal was all world.
Man you got yourself some pretty high standardsDid what he had to do last night like everyone. Don’t think he was individually brilliant or anything
I have no idea. I thought what I said was a complimentMan you got yourself some pretty high standards
The other day it was the Philly game where we weren't good enough in a game we dominated
Now it's Tarasenko. He scored a beauty last night. Has 4 points in 3 games, some beauty primary assists and can clearly play big boy hockey in the O zone
Wow. What's it gonna take?
Individual brilliance will be far and few with his game now.Did what he had to do last night like everyone. Don’t think he was individually brilliant or anything
Yeah I understand where he is at this stage.Individual brilliance will be far and few with his game now.
I will keep repeating he is not a flashy player. Even in his prime, he plays a simple but very effective game.
In the offensive zone he knows where to be and what play to make. In the D zone he can protect the puck and make sure it gets out.
All the while he is a heavy player, giving or taking hits.
It is so obvious he has played with structure his entire career. He is a great role model for our forward group, along with G.
Can't wait to see him score a Forsberg/Zhamnov one hand goal.
Hopefully he does one at a home game.
His size at 6ft?3 things Vladdy has always been good at that have been over looked at times because of the idea he's a pure sniper is his playmaking, agility to use his size to drive the net and finding soft ice around the net
I wonder if he has a future at the team. He's fitting in pretty well so far, even with low ice time and awkward linemates. He's also doing all the little things the right way, especially in the defensive zone.
He also keeps bringing up unprompted how he and his family love the city, and how it's perfect for families.
He's the kind of guy who will fall off the cliff rapidly when it happens IMO.
Huge caution signs about long-term contracts with him.
He's not speedy at the best of times, and I'm not sure he has the shiftiness and hockey IQ of an Alfredsson or a Giroux who can perform late into their 30s.
In any event, we have a sample of 3 games at the moment, with one mediocre game against good competition and two better ones against poor competition.
I'd have no issues if the term was 2-3 years at his current cap.
And yet there are still some who question the leadership on this team, we're lucky to have them should appreciate their contributions.Vladdy and G are two key players to have on a team full of young players, those two guys have done it all in this league, you need good veterans like them to lead the way to keep the guys even keel.
Exactly, this is what is expected of a veteran player & it's also what is expected of a guy who won a Stanley Cup, playing the right way.Individual brilliance will be far and few with his game now.

He's only 31 yrs old, there are lots of good players who still contribute in significant ways in their 30s, hell OV is still doing it in his 40s.He's the kind of guy who will fall off the cliff rapidly when it happens IMO.

This is your idea of a compliment? That explains a lot!Did what he had to do last night like everyone. Don’t think he was individually brilliant or anything
