Depends on how long then. You know I hate long contracts to over 30s. Recipe for disaster. If he wants to sign 2-3 years then it's a no brainer imo. I have a feeling he'll want a longer deal to see out his career.
2-3 years under the cap he's at now, is a no brainer for me.Depends on how long then. You know I hate long contracts to over 30s. Recipe for disaster.
Agreed. I was responding the adele who thought he'd want longer.2-3 years under the cap he's at now, is a no brainer for me.
Yeah but they wear blue and Ottawa 90s kids are a weak people and they cheer for teams based on their dads favourite colour. What an amazing human being. Shows why its important to cheer for your hometown team. The Leafs players aren't coming to Ottawa to cheer up our sick kids, and putting money into these efforts here.
I mean, I don't think he's gonna go fishing for a 5-6 year contract, with his history with injuries. He has to know he won't get that on the open market. I can't see him getting over 4 years. Maybe if he goes back home, which I don't believe there are any hints of that happening. Turning 32Agreed. I was responding the adele who thought he'd want longer.
I would not. Not unless it's like below $4m.If his play continues to be solid, I would be comfortable with a 5 year deal for Tarasenko.
Even at that price, I wouldn't go 5 years. That is a guaranteed buy-out or retention trade.I would not. Not unless it's like below $4m.
4 years is fine, anything more is a no IMO.I mean, I don't think he's gonna go fishing for a 5-6 year contract, with his history with injuries. He has to know he won't get that on the open market. That's a firm no.If his play continues to be solid, I would be comfortable with a 5 year deal for Tarasenko.
by 2027 this organization (Senators) will throw money around like skittles....that year the Sens will go on to complete a natural Stanleys" tour de chapeau " ; winning their 3rd cup in a row, once again with a 16-0 playoff record as they had in both previous cup runs3 years is the max they should go with him, even if they have to pay more for the AAV. If you look at the long-term flow of the Senators contracts, there will be quite a few raises to give out by 2027, so you'd want the option of cycling Tarasenko out. 2 is more ideal.
The original Dorion offer of 5 x 5.5M is not looking as bad now. With the cap going up, if he finishes close to PPG, he's probably a 7M player on a 2-4 year term.
The 3yr x 6.5m deal that they currently have in place with Giroux would be something that I think that would also be a good fit for Tarasenko.3 years is the max they should go with him, even if they have to pay more for the AAV. I think the Ottawa move will allow Giroux to play here till he is 38/39 maybe even 40 if the sens are really pushing for a cup and haven't done it yet. It's quite possible that if Ott wants Tarasenko back & he wants to come back that they could afford to give him a slight raise for next season. He's making $5 mil now & if they were to give him say Kubalik's money that might be more than enough to keep the 31 yr old for another yr or two especially sense we don't know how much longer Giroux will play either.
