They all do. Teams call them and make sure they'll sign for X amount of money before they pick them. The strategy is interesting, but I always like the not knowing when your name is called of other sports.

I think they normally get a call from the team before the pick. Probably less in advance later rounds though. Henry Davis said the Pirates told him about an hour before the pick, but my guess later picks they probably get a call and say "get ready", ha.

The 6-foot, 180-pound righthander was the closer for Missouri State this season, getting into 16 games, throwing 21 innings, walking six and striking out 31 batters. His fastball was 94-98 mph, to go along with an average slider and an average changeup. He gave up five of his nine earned runs in the first two weeks of the season, with a small sample of outings inflating his numbers, but he was lights out down the stretch.

I say we need pitching, pitching, and more pitching. And a little more outfielder depth would be nice.

The Jays draft nothing but pitchers...and an outfielder, heh.
 
I know nothing but it seems like a decent crop. Decent get at 1 because of the injury he had. Then they got decent looking Juco and HS arms with 2 of the next 3 picks before they started going with college arms towards the end though only one of those was a senior so who knows. Chad Dallas had an interesting progression too from juco reliever to SEC starter and he comes with the Brett Cecil, Anthony Kay glasses look. Know nothing about the HS outfielder they took in the 7th round but I like that they mixed that in. They could have mixed a few more position players in but as deep as we are at catcher and infielders in the farm all pitching with 1 outfielder just evens that out if anything. I know you don't draft for need, just interesting how it all landed.
 
At this point there is no good reason not to allow the Jays to come home. Most teams are fully vaccinated and the teams can shuttle directly from their planes to the stadium's hotel, then back again.

What we're seeing in Canada is total BS. Look at USA, I know they had a headstart on us in terms of the vaccines rollout, but Canada is stuck way behind when they shouldn't be. If they can have packed stadiums down there, we can too. Look at the home run contest. Packed stadium, reporters are on the field, fans not wearing masks.
