So Vinny at the age of 33 signs for 5 years at 4.5 and its a horrible deal. Pitt signs Dupuis for 4 years at 3.75 and its a great deal? Well they both will be 38 at the end of their deals? HF, I hate you sometimes(all the time)

So did I miss anything tonight guys? :sarcasm:

I don't hate the deal. I'm not all over it in a positive way...but its not terrible. He'll certainly help the team and I've always LOVED him as a player. But I would have loved for guys like Raffl, Noebels, Cousins, and Straka to duke it out for a spot.

Well if Gagne doesn't come cheap there will be a spot up for grabs in the bottom 6.

dupuis is nothing without crosby

he got 3.75 and its a "good deal"

hahaha gimme a break...people are just upset that vinny chose us over them....and on top of that they all look like idiots for saying that no one would ever sign with us again, so they are just being babies

Dupuis is pretty solid player in his own right. Now playing with Crosby does inflate his stats but he's a pretty good complimentary player.

That deals ok nothing to write home about.

Id like you all to know that I've decided to get Lecavalier put on my blank home jersey as soon as we find out what number he'll be wearing.

Vinny and Gags have some history together (I think in junior maybe?), so this may fuel Simon even more to return for a cheap deal. I hope he's back. No more than $2m though.

Gagne played for Quebec and Lecavalier played for Rimouski in the Q.

You may be thinking of Lecavalier and Brad Richards. They've been best friends since 14 and played from juniors on to the Lightining for several years.

Reading Montreal's fans reaction to this is priceless. If their team had signed him to these same terms, it would have been lauded over. But of course since the Flyers did it, ''HORRIBLE DEAL. HOLMGREN IS AN IDIOT!!! THEY'RE IN CAP TROUBLE. PHILLY SUCKS LOLOLOLOLOL''

I love it

They're just mad because even French Canadian players don't want to play up there with those whack jobs.

Yep. I can see why they're envious of us though. Look at all of the great French Canadians who have played for the Flyers in the last 10 years or so. Gagne, Desjardins (yeah he played for Montreal but he spent most of his career here and had his best years here), Giroux, Briere, ect. Then of course just recently we took Morin.

Vinny @ 4.5 for 5 years

Dupuis for 3.75 for 4 years

lmfao. i'm dying!!

HAHAHAHA

You too can help a team desperate for a championship caliber player...

Call now...

For only the price of one Rinaldo, you too can help one poor team upgrade from a Dupuis to a Lecavalier...

It only costs you a Rinaldo and a minute of your time...

Think about the lives you could be changing...

Call now...

You CAN make a difference...

I thought I remembered hearing something about Gagne and Vinny having history too. I thought it factored into Gags waiving his clause for the Lightning.

They might have been being two French Canadians from Quebec but the first time they played together was on Team Canada in the 2004 World Cup and then the 2006 Olympic team.
