Why are people complaining about the NMC? We just got the best UFA on the market. Lecavalier, Hartnell, and Kimmo are the only ones with full NTCs. Simmonds, Grossmann, and Coburn have modified NTCs. That's pretty much on par with the rest of the league, and as many have pointed out, the top guys want these and if they don't get them, you pay more or they walk.

I like this deal. I am probably hugely biased here though, because Lecavalier is one of my favorite players (from his glory days). He's a very consistent offensive producer, solid defensively and good in the fo circle. He will be an outstanding mentor for the young forwards on this team. Anyone who tells you that lecav didn't at least have some hand in how great a player stamkos has turned into is kidding themselves.

That said, we still need a goalie and ideally a good young defenseman.

Now the alarming question; does this mean that one of Schenn, Couturier or Laughton is moved for a young defenseman with upside? (Myers, Kulikov, Gormley, Runblad etc.)?

I have a feeling this means one of our young centres are being moved; Couts or Schenn. I can't see them being on the third/fourth line for another 5 years. I really didn't want Lecav on the team, I thought we were looking good down the middle, but it is what it is, I hope I'm wrong.

Schenn to the wing, Couturier as the 3C for a couple more years. I don't see the problem.

I fully expect Homer to sign also the other former 1st overall who will be bought out soon, a.k.a. DiPietro.

I just have to laugh.

Getting Vinny is awesome, but reported aspects of this contract are just bonkers (5 years, NMC). Can't say we don't go for it. Or that we ever learn.

Nah, that's not the Flyers way. Our ideal lineup:

Center-Center-Center
Center-Center-Center
Center-Center-Center
Shelley-Center-Shelley

Center-Center
Center-Center
Center-Center

Mason
Center

it is what it is.

Gotta have at least one Shelley in there. No roster is complete without one.

Talbot's a winger. Schenn will likely move to the wing. Vinny's a good faceoff guy, taking him out of the dot would be stupid considering it was a big problem for us last year outside of Giroux.

Spot on, now CG doesn't have to run out there for almost every faceoff.
