Even strength. regardless, Canucks wish they had a Byram.

Byram has carried his team across the finish line at the defensive end. And he's a perfectly capable offensive D. The Avs already have Makar. This is not a good place to go.

Canuck fans are well into their offseason by the time finals are played, they forgot hockey was even being played. No way in hell they saw what Byram did.

I constantly feel like this is a reality. Their loss. Incredible performance.

And I honestly feel that other teams are lucky to have their best D crack our top 3. Some teams yes. But Makar, Toews, Byram...are you kidding me?!

Not faded at all - the guy has played 73 games in 3 seasons lol he could have potential to be the greatest of all time if he's not on the ice it just doesn't matter - unfortunately he just isn't on the ice enough to NEARLY justify the asking price of some Avs fans. Like I said, absolutely 0 interest.

If you can't justify paying the asking price, then the Avs will very happily keep Byram. So, if you could get Canucks fans to agree to stop making proposals to get him for scraps, I'll make sure that Avs fans don't respond to those proposals with what it would realistically cost, and we won't need to do this again next week.

It wouldn’t be hard to crack the top 3 when the 3rd best only plays for 1/3 of the season

2023 1st from Vancouver isn't scraps. No need to lie especially if your boy is as good as you say.

Sure, in a vacuum, the 6OA pick is a nice piece. But, there's simply no logical reason to give up a 21 year old former 4OA pick like Byram, who has shown he can be a difference maker in the NHL when healthy, if the 6OA pick is the best piece coming back. Why do you think a Canucks fan made this proposal in the first place, if it isn't painfully obvious that Byram is better than anyone they can draft at 6OA?

Most fans wouldn't trade that pick at all. Offering it for Byram doesn't devalue the pick. Doubt any team in the top 10 this year would trade it for Byram tbh.

Micheal Ferland has been on the Canucks the past 4-years, and played 14-regular season games in total (all in that first year). Not sure why any Canucks fan would be interested in Bowen Byram after seeing firsthand how unlikely a comeback is after one too many concussions. Byram's a good player, but I have zero confidence in whoever the Canucks employ as concussion specialists to acquire a player that's had multiple head injuries. Other teams might feel they have the medical personnel to bring in a player like that, but Canucks aren't one of them. I believe Tucker Poolman might also have to retire b/c of concussions, and who knows if/when Travis Dermott comes back.

If the Canucks draft where they are today at roughly 6/7th overall, would Colorado accept the following:

2023 6/7th overall, Hoglander, and perhaps a 2025 2nd for Byram + Newhook?

Canucks would be taking the risk of having Byram with multiple concussions in his career but if he manages to stay healthy it would be worth the while. Avs get a young forward with high potential and another unprotected 1st in 2025.
Lmao, Canucks trading their top pick so the Avs can draft another young phenom why giving Canucks some damaged goods lol

If any of the top 10 teams in the league had Byram they wouldn't trade it for the pick either.

It was hyperbole to say that pick was scraps, but Byram is more valuable to any cup contender than the Canucks pick (assuming it's outside of the top 5).

That 6th or 7th pick should give us Towes and Newhook and we give you Myers to make the cap work 😏

Did you watch the finals last year?
I'm sorry but this argument is as ridiculous as my fellow canucks fans saying that Demko proved he was a top 3 goalie in the league because he played lights out against the Knights in the playoffs. Small sample sizes do exist, guess you and your fellow avs fans aren't aware of that?

Not saying Byram doesn't have all the potential in the world but this narrative that he has proven more than Hughes while playing on a far superior team and based on one playoff is asinine, again Hughes has to be one of the most underrated players in the league, the fact that so many av's fans are bad mouthing his play in his own end based on one season two years ago speaks f***ing volumes here.

I have a hard time believing Vancouvers GM wins an EP trade. I guess I also have to factor that into the equation.
I kinda agree but for argument's sake let's say that Vancouver wins the lottery. If they did that then moving Pettersson for futures would be a solid move because it would be a waste to have a ~10m player as a 2nd line C and unlike Miller he would actually return a great package.
