The next step is to adjust the PP. And I don't mean by putting Barker or Ebbett on it, but actually adjusting the zone entries and the setup.

For the PP:

Fire Newell Brown
Stop putting Hamhuis on the Point.
Acquire Visnovsky or Steit.
Put Garrison on the Point.

Booth has been ok. Lapierre has been bad, but honestly........if we had a better 4th line centre do you think we'd have a markedly different record?

Booth hasn't been ok, you need more than 0 real goals in 12 games out of your second line high paid winger. Lapierre wouldnt be a problem if he was a 4th line C, problem is we have him at #3.

How do you know they are the Sedins' plays and not AVs?

Ottawa has better depth than the Canucks.

OTT doesn't have better depth than VAN, sorry. And more to the point, VAN still has its primary scorers on the team.

And are you implying that the Sedins draw up their own plays on the breakout? If so, are the other lines left to the same standard? If they are, the coach is a fool. If they aren't, and he is drawing up the plays, then AV is an idiot. Either option being an indictment on his ability to coach.

I tried watching the game when it was tied at 1 all, at the end of the first and then the beginning of the second, and was confused because all I heard about (other than Cherry on his love of Bieksa), was about the Wings. All they talked about was the Wings and nothing but the Wings.

Then a penalty to Burrows for getting hit in the face with a stick and a questionable penalty to make it 5 on 3 for the Wings and I had to turn off the game. Same old, same old.

The CBC showing Canuck games actually makes me feel ill. Seriously, a question was asked by a member of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation:

"Who else in this league could do a backhand aerial pass", when speaking of Pavel Datysuk .... well, I don't know ... but possibly the center on the Canadian team that does that kind of thing regularly?

Clearly, I've not missed anything in the game as well. Turned it on to see Booth destroyed and leaving the bench. sigh.

Why fire AV? He's not the root of the problem. Compare the roster of 2010/2011 to this years. Gillis need to fix the problem at center and find a legit second liner.

I would go with Jensen over JS.

Just because he is a PP specialist from the looks of it.

i get the frusteration over the pp, but honestly what the hell is firing brown going to do...we have both sedins out there being finnicky with the puck. Putting garrison out there isnt going to solve an o-fer 31 problem.

EDIT: not that im against some sort of shakeup to shake this team out of status quo for jesus's sake

They can barely gain the zone, how is he going to help?

Sometimes I truly wonder what fans think the job of a coach is.

Booth has been doing everything but scoring. The effort and chances were there.

You are picking two very complementary pieces and blaming them for things that should rest on the shoulders of people named Sedin, Edler, Hamhuis, Burrows, Vigneault.

I would assume that the coaches do have a pretty large input when it comes to developing plays. The Canucks keep doing the same thing on the Power Play and it's clearly not working. Is it not the coach's job to try to adjust the strategy? Obviously the onus is on the players to get it done, but 0/33 is a pretty clear indicator that they need to try a different approach.

Well, we suck again. But in different uniforms.

--Canucks right now have a first line and 3 3rd/4th lines.

--Defensive zone coverage terrible yet again for the millionth time in a row. Datsyuk and Zetterberg just shredded them.

--Luongo = weak. Not good, man.

--Really having trouble picking out good performances tonight. Thought Tanev was the best dman, Bieksa was the best offensive dman, and that's about it. Hamhuis was terrible. Alberts was Alberts. Edler's still lost.

--How ****ing long does it take to fix a broken PP? A year? Two years?

--Rick Ball and Kelly Hrudey: Please SHUT UP!!! GOD!! If I never have to hear Hrudey blowing Datsyuk through another broadcast it'll be too soon. Praising AV's coaching really tipped the balance in my mind that Hrudey's obviously a Valk-sized idiot.

--Team's out of ideas. There's got to be someone with some fresh thinking out there. Time to find that someone.

2nd line wing and 3rd line C aren't complementary pieces. It's not Lappy's fault that he's been put there but its a problem none the less.
