Anyone know if after the first 2 season if there is an amnesty buy out?

Or is it 2 Amnesty buyouts for the following 2 seasons and thats it?

if the rumored kadri + bozak + 2nd is true, then thats a good deal for both teams.

You must be torn on this, being a fan of both teams.

Most Leaf fans who want to include Kadri in the deal do it because they don't like him. You both want to trade him away from the Leafs and get him for the Canucks.

Just think this guy was a rookie doing this...this guy has so much potential and to think we would have to give this up for a couple of good years of goaltending.

Gardiner is going to be a stud for the next 10-15 years. Book it!

Eh what do you say! Gardiner is a beauty. I didn't watch the leafs from 2004 to 2009. Now I was getting excited that Burke was actually working his butt off to get prospects anyway he could. If they pull of some stupid moves again I just might be done with this team and hockey for good.

It's two amnesty buyouts before year 3 but starting after this season, that's what I got out of it.

so hypothetically the Leafs could trade for Luongo and buy him out after year 3 and neither us or the Nucks would be on the hook for his salary (Leafs being the one of the only teams that could afford to do so)....

Interesting bargaining chip for Nonis

I agree, the Nucks have a hard dose of reality about to sink in.

I gotta say, I really am glad Burke didn't do any cap circumventing or ridiculous long term contracts right now.

Same here, the Canuck fans are being absolutely ridiculous. One guy in there said the contract is not brutal at all..WHAT? How can you say that with a straight face lol

should find a way to keep kadri, dump someone else.

on a side note, if bozak is dealt in this deal its safe to say Grabo centers kessel and lupu. but who centers the 2nd line?

I would not involve Kadri in a deal for Luongo....

Bozak, Frattin/Franson, 2nd...take it or leave...if they don't take it, blow up the team, seriously.

Really, please tell me how Kadri is the same type of player as Grabo?

Grabo
.66 PPG on Leafs
Plays bigger than his size
Grinds his way against oppositing D
Strong defensive play

Kadri
Very Offensively talented and has proven it against AHL opponents
.37 PPG on Leafs (Small sample size, i agree but still important)
Does NOT play bigger than his size
Does NOT grind
Is NOT known for his defensive play

There are many examples of guys who becomes career AHL stars but never full-time NHLers and Kadri is just as likely to end up like one of them, as he is to make a permanent appearance on an NHL roster.

I hope he steps up but to say that at this point he has higher upside than Grabo? You must have been watch XBOX simulations because on the ice there is just no comparison right now.

What was Mikhail Grabovski doing in 2007-08 at the age of 24 when we acquired him?

24GP 3G 6A 9PTS in Montreal for a whoppinh 0.375 PPG average.

Gotta play the kids if you plan on building with youth.

Back to reality...

There are no bidders for Luongo. It is a strong draft. The Canuck fantasy has imploded and their nightmare has now begun.I might consider Lombardi,Connolly and Komisarek for Luongo and Kessler, but you would have to be really nice to me.

Let the Gillis nightmare begin!

Not singling you out (you werej ust the most recent to comment on it), but in what world is Bozak/Kadri/2nd a good deal for Luongo?

I disagree wholeheartedly.

I can live with Bozak and Kadri being moved for Luongo you have to give something to get something. He's still a great goalie, his contract though sucks ass. The second is a bit steep but I'd be willing to toss that in if it came down to a done deal or not. That would be the most I would give up though. Gardiner, our first, Rielly are all off limits. Maybe take the 2nd and offer a 3rd.

Luongo flying out to Vancouver. Any chance this had of being resolved quickly is out the window. This will drag out all year and into the next off season.

Luongo in Vancouver is more of a sign of training camp starting Sunday more than anything.

He hasn't participated in any of the pre-training camp skates, the majority of players including Schneider have.

Luongo could easily be traded before the official camp starts but as of now he's still Nuck property.

Why hasn't he participated? Is he waiting things out?

Hey, when is this trade going down? friday, saturday or sunday? Is there some particular time for this to happen? I mean if it goes down at all, is there a day we should all be standing on our toes or something like that?

Why the wait?

Why the wait?

The first day trades can be made is Sunday when the CBA is finally finished and ratified. John Shannon says that Sunday or Monday is when he thinks a deal will go down, we'll see..I'm kind of having my doubts about it.
