The Flyers are in on everything. Just like the Leafs need to be.

In fact, the Leafs should be in on Subban, and should have been in on Stamkos and Doughty when they were RFAs.

Maybe we can go and get Bryzgalov for cheap... his contract ends before Luongo's and he's 4 years younger...

Might be a good idea.

Let the Flyers overpay for Luongo and trade for Bryz cheap.

He'd succeed in a defensive system similar to the one from Phoenix.

Those guys were never available... Same for Subban.

Doesn't mean you don't stir up a bunch of **** by threatening some offer sheets and screwing other teams over... enough with this good citizen crap. I'd love to inflate Subban's salary and put Montreal into a pickle.

http://www.torontosun.com/2013/01/09/toronto-maple-leafs-have-fired-brian-burke

QMI Agency has learned that Burke offered forwards Nazem Kadri, Tyler Bozak and a draft pick for Luongo back in September, a deal Vancouver could live with despite wanting defenceman Jake Gardiner in the deal.

But Burke’s insistence on attaching strings to the deal, perhaps a draft pick coming back if the Leafs forwards exceeded expectations, irked Canucks GM Mike Gillis.

The original offer, minus Gardiner, might still be enough if the new CBA rules haven’t changed the desire of both clubs. There is a thaw in relations already after word the two teams touched base Wednesday after Burke’s firing.

Yes.... he cost Lars Eller. What a player lol

Lars is a really good player who was a year away. He's better than Kadri IMHO ever will be. I bet 29GMs would love to have Eller on their rosters.

Halak was had for cheap though compared to what has been rumoured for Luongo but Luongo has won a lot more games and has carried teams before too, just not in the playoffs. :sarcasm:

And they could just turn around and return the favour so what purpose would it serve?

What a day. If Nonis gives up any of the team's few elite assets to get a goaltender who can't hold his job with the Vancouver Canucks, it's going to feel like that bloody rock has rolled all the way back down the mountain again.

......Lars Ellers a third line to second line style of guy who plays solid. Kadri has more skill in his stick than eller does in his system. If lars eller is supposedly going to be better than Kadri then so will Joe colborne, and Jiri Tlusty...

Lol, Mike Gillis.

On the news on CTV tonight their sportscaster said he doesn't believe that Burke refused to make a deal for Luongo and thinks that it is far more likely that he did work out a deal for Luongo and that the Board balked due to the price it would cost both in assets and money. He said that was the final straw.

The claim that Burke refused to give up Kadri, Gardiner, and whatever else came from Bob McCown but even other analysts (Shannon. Cox, and I think a couple of others) on the same channel/show said that he (McCown) was the only person in the media who was saying this and that they didn't believe him.

See, I think the Leafs will be better a team if you remove Bozak and Kadri and add Luongo, so I would make that deal. I'm not as sure about Kadri and Gardiner.
