Speculation: Vancouver Canucks are asking for Kadri + Bozak or Kadri + Gardiner for Luongo

The question is - is Luongo just short term gain?. I don't think he is, he's 33 and we've seen goaltenders play towards 40.
 
from the nonis interview, he might be looking to trade a guy like lupul/grabo/JVR then a guy like rielly or gardiner or kadri.

Bozak is fine, he's replaceable(In the short term by Connolly, then summer we make a trade, as the season isnt that long so it wont hurt us that much)

I'm really interested to see what happens, I really dont know what the asking price is still

Without Burke at the helm, I could see some moves happening that will totally destroy what youth foundations we have here in Toronto. We need(ed) somebody to ease the process along while being the lightning rod for criticism (Burke).

I am at a loss. I can't believe Burke was fired. This move set the franchise back a number of years in terms of regaining respectability.

Not to be disrespectful, but this really isn't something to consider for us at all. We won't consider Gardiner for Luongo, let alone a 1st in one of the deepest drafts since 03. Hansen's addition isn't enough to garner such a price.

I don't take any disrespect, it's all good, I actually quite enjoy talking and following the leafs, always been a canucks fan at heart tho.

Okay what about something like this.

Value absolutely seems to be there.
 
I'm sick of trading second round picks. Early second round picks often turn into fantastic NHLers.

2nd rounders are meant to be spent on boom or bust players, IMO, and we seem to trade them away like they're nothing. Same goes for third and fourth rounders.

And neither would any GM worth his salt. You don't give up anything of value, especially a former 7th overall pick, for a player you KNOW BEYOND ANY DOUBT is property of a GM who is anxious to move said player. Or at the very least you say no in the beginnings of the discussions and wait on the other GM's reply. It's called the driver's seat for a reason and one would think you don't get to be a GM of a pro sports team without understanding how to use that to your advantage. Pretty common logic I would imagine, but I'm just as concerned as everyone else

I wouldn't hesitate to trade Lupul for a solid return. This is a guy who has had one great season in NINE seasons of NHL work. His next contract will be incredibly risky.

Nonis never once mentioned those names in a trade; another hopeful Nuck fan putting words in other people's mouth.
 
dont get the impression he is looking to move any of the name he mentioned.

so for now, i think that finn, rielly, ashton and leivo seem to be prospects he covets.

he mentioned gardiner as well.

kadri left off the list.

MLSE wanting to dabble in Leaf business is beyond scary... Suits that think they know hockey is worse than having Mike Milbury as ur GM!
