That would be such a Leafs thing, leading the series 3-0 and end up losing in Game 7, lol

Game is clearly all on Rittich, not much more than that.
Just want to mention I thought Sandin was excellent tonight. Showed no effects of this being his first true full game of professional hockey this year. So much poise and skill at a young age, what a player we have there.

Because goalies don't want to split time and there's no guarantee with them. Many of the highest paid goalies aren't worth their coin.
Think back to last year and the goalie who stood on their head vs. us.

As soon as Foligno and Hutton get here Keefe might really want to talk to Dubas about getting Sabourin in and Engvall right off the team. The signing was a mistake ok fine. If i have to suffer watching that Thing play another game for the Leafs i will not enjoy games as much.
Complete uninspired useless tool. A huge part of why our bottom Six is doing nothing. He gives up on every puck weakly and everything is so light in in his dance of hockey. He just kills every play,hides behind the net when his mate has the puck looking for someone in front.
Trash this f*** out of this organization. I just cant stomach watching that waste of skin any longer. There were many other no darn good tonight but this guy seems to just make my skin crawl. Not end of rant. If he was a dog he’d suck on a bone not chew it

When healthy, their bottom 6 still isn't good enough.
There's 10 games left in the season, and they aren't any closer to finding their optimal bottom 6 than they were game in game 10.
which is why I’ve been saying, if they win 1 more game. It will be nearly impossible for Vancouver to do. You’re telling me in your heart of hearts you think Toronto has a chance of going 0-15 to end the season? Aint happening

Goalies are too unpredictable in this league. They can be shit one season then god the next.

Matthews seemed to be deferring a bunch again. Literally the shooters are afraid to take a shot so the passers take bad shots.
Finally a shooter (JT) actually took a shot on the power play and we scored.

Not saying to go spend 15mil on two goalies but two goalies who are starters and rotate them to keep them fresh.
Rittich hasn't single-handedly lost a game like he did tonight.
Campbell can't play out the string and Freddy isn't coming back any time soon. Rittich will get another start in the next 3. If he stands on his head you forget tonight. If he sucks you have him switch places with Hutch.

Keefe doesn’t need to talk to dubas about who plays. Sabourin is useless outside of fighting, engvall doesn’t have a place anyways when we’re fully healthy, so none of it matters.
People want to write him off already despite the tidy career .917 SV%. He’ll rebound. 5 poor games don’t erase the larger body of work.

Rittich's save percentage heading into this game was around .900%, no shock that he had another crapfest.
Our goaltending has been garbage all season with the exception of a short stretch with Campbell. Even Hutchinson who wasn't horrific every game wasn't anything special.
Goaltending will kill the Leafs in the first round, Andersen isn't the answer, neither is Campbell or Rittich.

With Sabourin on the IR, they had enough cap space to squeeze Brooks and Sandin in the lineup. Pretty solid trade off.
Aside from Campbell's first 7-8 games this season goaltending has been consistently poor throughout. At some point, the finger needs to be pointed at the coaching staff/goalie coach if every goalie we play can't play at an at least average level.
