I mean we sure aren’t perfect, but our goalie has easily been worse than their peer in every game, by a lot. Decent tending and it’s rainbows and unicorns in here. We have the majority of the play, PP woes aside.

Even the PP woes dont look that bad now. Outside of a brutal streak a while ago, its been trending up and underlying numbers are into the top ten now much like earlier in the season. Just need to shoot more (echoing others). Over the last 2 weeks, both Florida and the Islanders (and 6 other teams) have worse G/60 on the PP and they all have much worse underlying numbers than the Leafs. I know the media will try to hang onto it but the worst is over there IMO.

Just gotta hope for an Andersen or Campbell hot streak come playoff time.

Just taking the most familiar guy as an example, Holtby lost his starting job to Grubs the year Washington won the cup after being just brutal down the stretch and was only put into the playoff after the Caps were circling the drain in the first round....He then preceded to go on the run of a lifetime to win the cup for them. Should have won MVP.

Just make the playoffs and give the team a chance is all.

Where were these hits? All I saw was a bunch of wimps play like wimps..... and they do it over and over again.
The problem is leafs fans have gotten used to it. We are the windiest team in the league without a shadow of a doubt..... but at least we have more hits on the stat sheet then the Canucks. I wonder where we rank on the season
The Leafs outhit the Bruins during the 2019 playoffs and still lost the series while the 2019 Blues were 24th in hits per game during the regular season.

Can’t throw hits when you have puck possession all the time.

We should give the other team the puck more so we can get the hits/60 up
Tonnes of top teams dwarf us in hits. Tampa, Caps, NYI, Bruins, Pens, Canes, Vegas, Oilers, Jets, Florida, etc. Basically every top team but Colorado hits a lot more than us, and is generally a lot grittier/tougher. We’re definitely one of the softest teams in the league.

again you have to account for the pace that the habs are at, if Vancouver wins 17 straight they have a high percentage at 4th. It’s going to be very difficult for them.
I think 4th place doesn't need 73 points. If it does the habs better go undefeated from here on in.

It doesn't really concern me whether we finish 1st or 4th in the division because home ice doesn't mean as much without fans in the stands.

What does concern me, is our game play heading into the playoffs. If we're on a roll, we're unstoppable. If we go into the playoffs playing they way we are, we're history...

making millions on stocks. look for stocks that are being walked down.

The leafs are being walked down.

Same deal, watch for the absolute obvious fix, then place a bet on a bet, you know the outcome in advance.

LET it be heard here, no way Leafs lose first round.

Won't say anything more, but no way, we lose first round.

No ex NHLERS, talk about the NHL Are millionaires worried about losing a few grand in nhl retirement

nope.

This a walkdown.

U SEE A walkdown, you bet long, goes against all your emotions, YOUR education

I did it all educationally, only to see guys who dropped out of school at grade four, smoke me time and time again.

Leafs have every bookie in any burg in the world, taking bets that they will lose first round.

Said too much. nite .
How much for your motivational DVDs?

Honestly at this point I’d call the guy that replaced roloson in your cup run and give him a shot. He was awful but he’s better than the hanging jersey we’ve had in there over the last 5
Why don't you guys try out that Vevh guy you got from Columbus?

Don't remember the goalie for the Oilers in 2006 since I was too young but he would probably be better lol

Idk, go back and rewatch the game. Every time a leaf player “hits” a Canuck, put a tick on a piece of paper. When this is done, return with your findings. We’ll see if you’re better at counting than the guy the NHL pays to record that stat. Think of it as homework if you will.

Top 10 teams with xGA/60 all strengths vs. their team save percentage:
1) Colorado (11th)
2) Boston (8th)
3) Dallas (7th)
4) Toronto (18th)
5) Islanders (2nd)
6) Minnesota (5th)
7) Tampa (12th)
8) Philly (31st)
9) Florida (6th)
T10) Detroit (22nd)
T10) Calgary (23rd)
T10) Vegas (1st)

We are the only playoff team with bottom half goaltending, and some of these teams have had some injuries (Colorado) or poor backups (Tampa) that have hurt their ranking a bit.

We literally need a goalie who can play as well as the defense in front of him and we are likely an .800 team right now. We get above average goaltending like what Campbell was giving us in his 11 game win streak... Well we didn't lose a game in that 11 game streak.

The extreme feast/famine disparity between Campbell's .945 stretch and the .830 stretch currently are what makes it so infuriating IMO. If we had just ho-hummed along at a .915 we would have still had a very good record throughout.

At this point my hope is Andersen somehow channels that Holtby 2018 magic to backstop us for a run

We are in a tough spot. Maybe Campbell can play decent again

Goalie can make or break a team
Goalies play the most minute per game
We always hear this goalie stole the game or series but never hear anything like this fwd or Dman stole the game or series.
Why won’t GMs spend good money on TWO starter caliber goalies and play them alternatively like Team Canada in the Summit Series

Both Campbell and Rittich owe the team a standout performance.

Winners own bad performances and make amends. They each should get a start in the next few games. The one who shows he's a winner you ride him the rest of the way. If they both shit the bed you can take solace you never really had a chance anyway.
Feels like this was Rittich's redemption chance he blew tonight. We're down to Campbell taking the reigns or rolling over for Andersen

Imagine dominating a game and then your goalie lays an egg...wait this has happened all year. Its no longer an imagination..

I’m not someone who holds on to the past, so for me it would shock me because Vancouver has to win 17 games to even make it into the playoffs that ain’t happening.
No they don't. They're at 41pts with 16 games left. Montreal is 6 pts ahead of them with 13 games left.
Even were not out of the woods. Sure they need 20 more points than us in 16 games but that's only 10-6 if we lose out. Not saying we will but if being a Leaf fan has taught me anything it's that nothing is impossible.
