He was creating chances, winning faceoffs, backchecking like crazy. I just want him to shoot more, but meh.

He might not of showed up on the score sheet, but he was a significant factor.

Didn't he have like 3/4 slappers in one shift in the 3rd?

Don't remember em. I just keep thinking about the pass off back to Benn, and pass in the 3rd that he had a clear cut lane to. Couple other chances he passed off as well.

Either way, he was still a big threat last night and created numerous chances.

Edit: Didn't realize he finished the night with 5 shots on net either, wow.

Should have capitalized on those chances. Seguin could have had a hat trick if he would have made smarter plays in the offensive zone.

It definitely wasn't his best game of the season, I just don't know that I can think of 3-4 players who had a bigger impact in the flow of the game, shift to shift.

He did have quite a few times where passes or shots resulted in semi-odd man rushes the other way. Not his best game for sure. If he gets the same chances in another game I feel pretty confident we'll see results.

That pass back to Benn surprised me because normally Seguin gets in that area of the rink and he can sniff a goal out. When they showed the replay I could see he was trying to quickly change the point of attack and play off the defenseman's position, but he still should have put it on net. Looked to me like he deferred to the guy with the hot hand.

I'm not saying he was bad I was just disappointed in his play.

I'd say Goligoski, Eakin, Benn, Fiddler, Garbutt, Horcoff and Daley were better shift to shift then Seguin last game. Simply because Seguin should have capitalized on his chances better.

But that pass off back to Benn was a great play...

I'd have to look at it again but I remember thinking he pulled away the defender and gave Benn a great open look that he has drained many times.

this. I can't argue with making a shooting lane for Benn. He is a man on a mission right now.
Seguin has been great IMO. His defense is sooooooo much better than I thought it would be by now.
His skating makes so much room. It isn't like hasn't put good shots on.

If you take away stats, his game looks really good by the eye test. Trust the process. He may be a bit snake bit right now with playoff goals, but if plays this way he will score plenty.

And in the meantime he hasn't hurt us even a little bit.

I'm excited. You know tonight is going to be a heavy does of Getzlaf-Perry and Seguin-Benn. I think they've got this. They got whipped a bit in the first two games, but those two have a win in them. I think they can out play that duo tonight.

I know Boudreau tried his best to get Getzlaf-Perry matched up against Seguin-Benn in Game 3. Is this what he tried to do in Games 1 and 2 in Anaheim?

Yes, the matchup Boudreau wants is his top line against our top line. Personally, I think it's Anaheim's best strategy and it worked well in the first two games.

So what did you guys think overall of his play in the playoffs?

From what I saw, he was pretty much exactly what he was for the Bruins last year. One goal, a tip in Game 1, and that's it. He was setting guys up and had lots of scoring chances, he wasn't invisible, but man a guy like that, relied on to score, 37 goals in the regular season, you gotta put the puck in the net. It was the same thing last year in the playoffs with him, he didn't play badly (other than the first 6 games of the Toronto series), he was actually good, but just could not finish any of his chances. It isn't like the Ducks have some world class goalie, either, or a particularly great defense. He got chances, he was buzzing around.

He had a great regular season, put up a ton of numbers, but everybody knew he could do that and that he was going to do that. I know you guys aren't really in "win now" mode and this was a big step to even make the playoffs, but when you have his skillset, and you are the player that he is, relied on to score goals, making 6 million dollars in a salary cap era, you gotta put the puck in the net, or else you get what happened here in the first round, an exit in 6 games in a very winnable series.

I'm sure some of you hyper sensitive people that flipped out on me the last time I was here will make a ton of excuses and tell me to go away or whatever, I don't care. You can't give a guy credit for scoring 37 goals in the regular season, and then turn around and pretend it's not an issue when he's not scoring in the playoffs, even if the rest of his game is satisfactory. 2 goals in his last 28 playoff games, that's enough of a sample size to make it worth noting, especially when he is getting so many chances.

I'm sure he'll eventually pot a few and be a good playoff player, but right now it's definitely something worth talking about. I don't know if he just has trouble finding that extra gear that is needed in the playoffs, if he's just snakebitten, or what. But honestly I'm surprised, I thought he was really going to take that next big step as a player in this series, and we just didn't see it. He looked exactly like he did last year for the Bruins. And again, that's not a bad player, I'm not saying he sucks or bashing him, so for the 3 of you who I know are going to take everything I'm saying out of context and twist it into that, don't bother because I'm not going to respond to you. But it's worth talking about.

Your description of his play is accurate. If Dallas had a proper 2nd line the impact of his lack of goals would have been considerably lessened.

I feel like this is Brad Marchand and not David Krejci I'm replying to. You know there are open wounds amongst the fanbase after the type of loss we just experienced yet you just repeat the pain points (bolded) of your argument over and over and over to try to make a point. We got to where we did as a team and unfortunately we bowed out the way we did as a team. I say this in the politest possible way but my hats off to how effective of troll you are. From compliment to slap in the face to compliment to slap in the face we appreciate your input. We lost, you win, we'll keep him. Go Habs go!

You know, if you didn't want to appear like a troll you probably would have waited at least a day or so before coming in here with your "haha, told you so, suckers" ********.

So, you've had your "told you so" moment now. Does it feel as awesome as you dreamed it would?

It's really hard to work up any serious annoyance or emotions regarding someone who is actually miffed at the idea that another fanbase could be happy with his team's cast off pieces. It just seems... petty, and unnecessary.

Oh, this D-bag again.
