Confirmed with Link: Axel Sandin-Pellikka signs three year entry level contract

SHLregular season usually runs from late September to early March, and the playoffs take place from March to April.
So if Skellefteå fails to make the playoffs, it should allow for mid-March assignment for both ASP and MNB to North America?

I could see both of them getting cups of coffee (like Kasper did when he broke his kneecap) after the NHL TDL and then heading down to GR to get ready for their playoff run.

I think a playoff run in GR would be great for both these guys. Really get a chance to see what it is going to take to play NA hockey, plus it gives them the summer to work on what they learn.

Get Erik Karlsson and make a playoff run. I want a 3rd pairing of ASP & EK65. They are either going +7 or -7 every game but no team wants to deal with that.

Think this Yzerplan is going really well....

Think Gustafsson is the guy to mentor Pellikka on NHL habits, then gone. It just works really well for one year at next season.

Then also the plugs are away, Petry and Holl....

Season 2025-26
-----------------
Chiarot - Seider
Edvinsson - Top4 RhD upgrade
Johansson - Gustafsson/Holl
(Pellikka at GR)

Season 2026-27
-------------------
Johansson - Seider
Edvinsson - Top4 RhD upgrade
Chiarot - Pellikka
7th D

This has to be a joke.

I'm betting this a joke.

There's no way this isn't a joke

That 25-26 defense is what I expect from Lalonde.

You’re drunk, Henkka. Go home and sleep it off.

EK making 11.5 mil and having 2 points in last 10 games, he is practically forward. Edvinsson has 4 . Yes , we need solid top line defansman, but not Karlson., sorry

Out of Holl, Petry, Gus, and Chiarot, I like Chiarot the most. I even think Chiarot can be useful at times. We'll need at least one veteran next year, and he isn't the worst option.
Not wrong, I don't know but I think there will be better UFA options in summer 26.

At RD there's Rasmus Anderson, at LD...a bunch of old guys. In 27 Dunn, Hughes, and Makar can become UFA but I can't imagine any of their teams let that happen.

IT's fun to think of us going out and signing guys, but I have to think a trade is more likely to get us the answer we want.

It almost has to be a trade. The number of FA signings that actually become core pieces of a winner is exceedingly rare. Pietrangelo because who tf knows what the Blues were thinking letting him walk. Forsling, no one knew what he was capable of. Chara from the infancy of the salary cap. Hossa. Is that it?

Brian Rafalski...

At current market, it pretty much is a trade only for RhD option.

Aren't we talking about @Henkka 26/27 defense proposal and position 5 + 6, why do you mention these guys?

In my eyes Chiarot is not the steady defensive guy helping ASP learning the NHL game. It hasn't worked with a defensive minded Seider in the beginning and I can't see it with a more offensive guy like ASP.

you asked about UFA options. The pickings are slim unless you want an old guy, and upgrading on Chiarot is easier said than done without dumping at least $5m on someone. And even at $5m you're looking at...well, not great pickings.

Hence, if we're looking outside the organization...trades. If ASP is in Detroit, on the third pair next year...just pair him with Gus. Two guys who can competently move the puck between each other would probably be an upgrade over whatever Holl is doing back there and ASP might actually make that pair serviceable.

I think next year we will have ASP on the team. Give me Buium and forget signing any old FAs. Keep whatever vets you want and get rid of the others
