was at the game last night and i keyed in on him a lot.

Just random thoughts from me.
- I liked how good he was at using his long reach and stick to disrupt plays in the Dzone.
- Followed positioning to a T. Always skated back to centre ice when possession was unclear.
- Lots of hesitating when presented with a 50/50 pucks which gave opposing players opportunity to create plays.
- Him and Sanderson were talking a lot good to see Sanderson is already veteran presence to the new guy.

Gonna need to see how he does down the stretch but he might not need a full season of AHL maybe a half season down there to get more used to playing against pros.

Your only critque seems to be the hesitation which is to be expected in a first game when adrenalin & nerves are hightened. Clearly you see an NHL defencemen who is closer to being in the NHL than a guy who needs a lot more development time. UND has been known as a defencemen factory for some time & he has clearly been very well coached on the fundamentals as has Sanderson, Pinto & JBD who is also expected to be on the team next yr. The D seems to be really rounding into form.

Most impressive thing to me was his confidence moving the puck and shooting it on net.
Way better puck skills than I expected. Love the idea of him and Brannstrom as the third pair they should compliment each other really well. I do think he should get some games in the AHL next year but he could push for a spot from the get go. He has more upside than I expected TBH. Players like him have much longer development curves. From a purely physical stand point he is very unique. To move that well for his size and have the passing and shooting ability he does there is alot to like. I really havent seen enough of him to know how much work he needs on his hockey IQ.

I think he had a couple mistakes but they are fixable. Just needs to be a little harder clearing pucks in his own zone but that will come.

I was a little surprised to see the confidence he played with, was a great opportunity for him to get into the game with lots of icetime with Hamonic unfortunately getting injured.

I agree with alot of posters its kind of a hard game to evaluate him because philly is so terrible. Saturday will be a completely different test.

Exactly the type of guy you want to come in on the bottom pair.

He'll be a Methot type guy in his prime.

The Elite Prospects guys really knocked it out of the park with the Sens guys.

Listening to those dummies try and explain their reasoning was unbelievably painful.

Not a single hockey player among them

J.D Burke - "I have Tyler Kleven as a DND (Do Not Draft) prospect for 2020, and even I would be the first to tell you skating wasn’t really the issue there."

"worst pick in the draft, has the worst passing % player to player on the entire NTDP squad, including the goaltenders"

"would not waste a draft pick at any point in the entire draft. DND and move on"

This bozo is the head of "Scouting" for eliteprospects. Wouldn't trust him to pick a bantam b team.

Would love to hear him try and talk in a box or the stands with actual scouts during a game
That Burke fella is embarrassing and for the good of EP should remove himself from those discussions.
The ranking panel that puts their lists out is such a hodge podge

The nice thing is that the question now is; when will he be a regular, not if he will be.

I was hoping he'd be this good to start, but honestly didn't expect it given how we can all get so excited about some of our prospects.
He's a player.
Smart passer, calm, really good agility and speed - clearly wants to be involved in the offence and seems to have no worries about making a mistake given how he was jumping into play. Lots of confidence.

crazy how well he moves for a guy so big.

might be one of the most physically impressive players weve had since fisher or something. and he's only a rookie. :0
Gauthier and Chychrun imo are more physically impressive.

Wrt since Fisher, Greening was likely more physically impressive, dude was the kind guy you'd select if you wanted to clone an army...

He’s in the bottom 4 of the team in hits per 60., along with Chabot,Branny and Sanderson
I was referring to Chrychrun being one of the most physically fit and strongest players on the team, rather than how many hits they have which are counted differently in every single arena.

Pretty good debut. Had a bad read on the first shift but that was the only notable blunder. He is going to have moments like that, how quickly he takes the next step will have a lot to do how much he can eliminate those bad reads.

Yep the the home hit counts in Ottawa are done by the same person, and visiting numbers by a different person. Same in every rink.
He is a strong person though.

Nice to see Stuetzle go grab the puck from the Giroux goal for Kleven's first NHL point

I remember reading that Greening also had a 3.9 gpa at Yale lol.

I think it was his 100th career assist too, not that he's put up a fight for it, but that puck was getting grabbed by someone regardless.

Lot of bad decisions moving the puck, particularly along the boards,, but it was his first game and he still needs to get a feel for the NHL game

Still think IQ is the biggest question mark with him. Handles the puck fairly well and can hit tape when he does identify the right passing option.

May take a couple years to put it all together but he's got good potential.

I feel he struggled under pressure when things got fast, especially as you said close to the boards. Totally expected for a 95% of rookies in their first game. He was fine when he had time to make a pass which is a good start.

I agree though that his ability to think the game at NHL speed will be the deciding factor on if he has a decent NHL career.

Seems like a good kid, so hopefully he's prepared to put in the work and learn.

The shots on goal last night ended up being 46 for & 11 against & only because of very weak goaltending & a couple of defensive lapses last night did this game not become a blowout. The Sens dominated Philly in almost every category, it was an embarrassment really that the game went into overtime. Lots of positives to take away from last night's game if it wasn't for the injuries that have plaqued this team all yr long.

One thing that annoys me with them and other public lists is they’ll take a perfectly fine prospect and say do not draft. Maybe it’s to generate discussion. But then I realize everyone else In the group or the chat or whatever just agrees. And I’m like. A dude can’t be that bad
They can be that bad. We see first round selections bust all the time. In some cases, it would have been more accurate to DND the player than have him ranked in the first, and in my opinion, that is the measure of drafting ability. In terms of WAR or wins (or whatever metric you like), how close does a team or scout get to the theoretical max on each pick?
